6. MENTAL PROCESSES

В античном мире зарождалось множество мнений о природе и процессах душевных проявлений.

Одно из первых представлений имело гносеологический смысл, оно выражало способы познания окружающего мира. Деятельность органов чувств определялась длительностью мышления - так считал Гераклит. Еще в доаристотелевский период распространение получило учение о том, что существуют так называемые части души.

Во времена существования пифагорейской школы возникло новое представление о трех частях души: "мужественной", "разумной" и "алчущей". Данное представление приняли Платон и Демокрит.

Аристотель же придерживался натуралистической позиции, он великолепно обобщил эмпирический материал, и его схема утверждала целостный генетический подход к процессам жизнедеятельности человека. В этом состояло преимущество аристотелевской схемы перед платоновской. Онтологические, психологические и гносеологические познания о природе психических явлений были крепко связаны между собой в умах древних мыслителей, поэтому они разделяли качества вещей на первичные и вторичные. Аристотель считал, что представления соединяются по законам ассоциации. Эта концепция Аристотеля положила начало одной из самых известных психологических теорий - ассоциативной. Аристотель опровергнул концепцию Платона и отнес субстрат воспоминания не к душе, а к телу. Он считал, что душа и тело не могут существовать раздельно друг от друга. Также Аристотель высказал предположение о разграничении двух видов разума: практического и теоретического. Аристотель проложил непроходимую грань между психической деятельностью человека и животных и создал учение о гетерогенном разуме.

Эпикурейцы и стоики в своих разработках о познавательных способностях души сделали немало открытий, в особенности в плане преодоления трудностей, связанных с проблемой перехода от чувственных впечатлений к мышлению, устанавливающему твердые истины.

Эпикурейцы выдвигают некую концепцию о том, что положительное эволюционное развитие - это отсутствие отрицательного эволюционного развития. Стоики же объявляют войну любым аффектам, рассматривая их как "порчу разума".

Сложившиеся в античный период взгляды на различные виды психических явлений определили опорные пункты последующего психологического поиска.

Научные знания о психике, деятельность ученых древностей по добыванию этих знаний имеют величайшее значение, которое определяет их особую роль в развитии цивилизации.

Философские категории применимы к любым проявлениям умственной активности, к каким бы объектам она ни была устремлена.

Важнейшими объектами исследования исторического пути развития науки являются сами ее исследователи. Историческая логика движения познания обусловливается творческими исканиями личности.

Scientists at Edinburgh Napier University have announced the invention of a display that uses ambient light to display images on the screen.

The basis of this device is a lattice, the cells of which are formed from a polymer fiber with a fluorescent substance.
