24.07.2014
In the third quarter of 2014, Intel is going to release 14-nanometer Core M processors based on the Broadwell microarchitecture, which are designed for use in hybrid mobile computers that combine the features of tablets and laptops. Appropriate models will be shown at the Intel Developer Forum, which will be held September 9-11 in San Francisco.
The first wave of Core M will include five positions, including the 5Y10, 5Y10a, and 5Y70 models, which will replace seven 22nm Haswell microarchitecture models, including the Core i7-4610Y, Core i5-4320Y, and Core i3-4012Y.
The entry-level segment will be covered by models based on the Haswell microarchitecture, such as the Pentium 3516Y and Celeron 2961Y.
The Core M series will be updated in the first quarter of 2015, but will continue to coexist with 22nm Haswell processors until the third quarter of 2015. The U-series will receive three new Haswell processors in the fourth quarter of 2014, but will switch to the Broadwell microarchitecture in the first quarter of 2015. In the second quarter of 2015, entry-level Braswell processors belonging to the Pentium and Celeron N series will appear.
