27. F. Quesnay's teaching

In the 17th century France, despite the significant development of industry, continued to remain an agricultural country. The oppression of feudal duties intensified. The decline of agriculture has reached its limit. The productive forces came into deep conflict with feudal relations of production. In the struggle against the feudal system, the bourgeoisie put forward its ideologists. One of the first places was taken François Quesnay (1694-1774) - founder and head of the school physiocrats.

The Physiocrats came out with a strong criticism of mercantilism. In contrast to the mercantilists, who concentrated their attention on the analysis of phenomena in the sphere of circulation, the physiocrats made a turn from the analysis of circulation to production analysis.

They moved the study of the issue about the origin of the surplus product from the sphere of circulation to production sector. This is the main scientific merit of the physiocrats. But they limited the scope of production only to Agriculture.

The central place in the economic system of the physiocrats was occupied by doctrine of "pure product", by which Quesnay understood the difference between the total social product and production costs, or, in other words, the excess of product over production costs.

Quesnay argued that a "pure product" is created only in agriculture, where, under the influence of the forces of nature, the number of consumer values increases. In industry, he believed, only use values are combined in various ways, in the process of labor the form of the substance created in agriculture is modified, but its quantity does not increase, and therefore the "pure product" does not arise, and wealth is not created.

It is the merit of the physiocrats that they give within the limits of the bourgeois outlook capital analysis. TO material elements of capitalused in agriculture, Quesnay attributed: agricultural tools and implements, livestock, seeds, livelihoods of workers, etc.

In contrast to the mercantilists, who identified capital with money, he believed that money does not exist on its own, but the means of production acquired with it are capital. However, he considered these material elements of capital as simple elements of the labor process in general, in isolation from the social form in which they function in capitalist production. Thus, capital was portrayed as an eternal, ahistorical category.

Quesnay made the first attempt in the history of political economy to present the process of reproduction and circulation of the total social product as a whole. This process is schematically depicted in "Economic table", which shows how the finished product produced in the country is distributed through circulation, as a result of which the preconditions are created for the resumption of production on the previous scale. Only simple reproduction is considered here.

"Economic Table", being an outstanding work, also has serious shortcomings due to the shortcomings of the physiocratic theory itself as a whole, created Quesnay.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Nanowire instead of a hard drive 03.01.2022

An international team of scientists led by the Cambridge University's Cavendish Laboratory has used cutting-edge 3D printing techniques to create double magnetic spirals that serve as information carriers. The researchers found that they create nanometer-scale topological textures in a magnetic field. Previously, no one has recorded such a phenomenon, and the discoverers believe that the twisted nanowire can become the "ancestor" of the next generation of magnetic devices.

Magnets are widely used in storage devices and computing systems. The disadvantage of the latter is that the magnetization points in them are two-dimensional structures. But the nanowire architecture is three-dimensional, which allows a higher recording density, as well as changing the magnetic properties of the device and significantly expanding its functionality.

Until now, this idea has been very difficult to implement because scientists have not had the ability to create three-dimensional magnetic systems. Therefore, over the past few years, the research of the International Group has been focused on the development of new methods for visualizing three-dimensional magnetic structures and 3D printing technology for magnetic materials.

Using advanced x-ray imaging techniques (soft x-ray laminography), the researchers found that a three-dimensional structure, like the structure of DNA, results in a completely different texture of magnetization compared to the texture of 2D structures.

The walls of the magnetic domains (areas where the magnetization is concentrated in one direction) of neighboring spirals are very close to each other, they are also deformed, because the nanowires are intertwined. Under the action of a magnetic field, these walls are even more attracted to each other, rotate, and then "fix" and form strong regular bonds, similar to base pairs in DNA.

Magnetic spirals give researchers the ability to simulate a magnetic field at the nanoscale and subsequently control the strength of the field.

In conventional hard drives, magnetic domains on platters are considered as two-dimensional structures - islands of magnetization. An international group of scientists presented a work on the study of the magnetic properties of three-dimensional objects. The transition from conventionally flat magnetic fields for data recording to bulk fields opens the way for a significant increase in recording density. We might be surprised by what will replace hard drives.

The density of magnetic domains on HDD platters is approaching its limit. Neighboring islands of magnetization begin to influence each other and destroy the magnetization (recorded data). To counter this, advanced HAMR and MAMR (local heating and microwave) technologies are used to help overcome coercive force and record data without losing magnetization. But there is a limit to everything, so alternatives are being searched in parallel, one of which is aimed at developing the so-called track or running memory.
