American automaker Ford has unveiled the Ford Maverick compact hybrid pickup truck.
The novelty is a compact pickup truck that is comfortable to use not only in the countryside, but also on the narrow streets of modern cities. At the same time, the recommended starting price for a hybrid version of the Ford Maverick with a consumption of about 5,8 liters per 100 km is only $19,995. This price includes an 8-inch touchscreen display with Ford Sync 4, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; built-in FordPass Connect 4G/LTE modem with Wi-Fi; Ford Co-Pilot360 system with automatic emergency braking; LED headlights; Rear View Camera; remote keyless access, etc.
The new pickup truck is built on the same front-wheel drive platform as the Ford Escape and Ford Bronco Sport. The standard eCVT version is powered by a 2,5 hp 162-liter petrol engine, complemented by a 94 kW electric motor that brings the pickup truck's total output to 191 hp. / 210 Nm. For fans of classic engines, there is also a 2,0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine delivering 250 hp. / 376 Nm. This version received an 8-speed automatic and the optional ability to install all-wheel drive.
The Ford Maverick received all the features familiar to American pickup owners, such as electrical outlets in the back, a modular trunk and the ability to carry / tow fairly large loads / trailers (up to 680 kg of cargo in the trunk and 900/1800 kg of trailer, depending on the option package).
The cost of the Ford Maverick XL is from $19,995.
