Full Document Occupational Safety and Health / Standard instructions for labor protection Safe Operation 1. General requirements for labor protection 1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production". 1.2. Hazardous production factors: moving machines and mechanisms, moving parts of production equipment; moving products; blanks, materials. Sources of the occurrence of factors: a rotating drill, a milling cutter, moving and rotating parts of equipment, poor-quality manufacturing of a cutting tool and its insufficient fastening; insufficient clamping of the part. Action factors: the possibility of contact with the cutting tool; the possibility of contact with moving and rotating parts of the equipment; the possibility of breakage and loss of the drill; the possibility of flying parts. 1.3. Individual protection means; cotton suit; combined gloves; goggles. 2. Safety requirements before starting work 2.1. Check the sharpness of sharpening the drill and the reliability of its fastening in the chuck. The fastening of the cutting tool must ensure its precise centering. 2.2. Check the serviceability of the drill guard and the reliability of its fastening. 2.3. Check the brakes and interlocks for proper operation. Interlocks must ensure that the machine cannot be turned on when the guard door is open. 2.4. Make sure that the pedal mechanism and the hydraulic system are in good condition (the amount of oil in the pump, if there is any oil leakage). 2.5. Make sure that the hydraulic clamp, pressure gauge and hydraulic system fuse are in good condition. 2.6. Check the serviceability of electrical equipment and grounding devices. 3. Safety requirements during work 3.1. Before turning on the machine, warn the persons working together. 3.2. Check the strength of the fastening of the workpiece with special clamps. 3.3. Feed the drill or workpiece smoothly and evenly. 3.4. Processing of parts with a length of more than 1,5 m is carried out using special attachments, with a length of more than 3 m, use roller tables. 3.5. Monitor the operation of the hydraulic system, avoid oil leakage and its heating above 40°C. 3.6. Do not use rags to clean the tank. 3.7. Do not clean chips from the drilled groove with your hands. 3.8. Do not brake the drill with the pressure of any object on the surface of the shaft. 3.9. Inspection, cleaning, wiping, quality control of parts processing, fastening of fences, manual removal of waste from the machine should be carried out when it is completely stopped. 3.10. If there is a knock, vibration, change in the nature of the noise, overheating of the cutting tool, turn off the machine and inform the master. 4. Safety requirements in emergency situations 4.1. Turn off equipment. 4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management. 4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher. 4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning. 4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.). Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base. 4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility. 5. Safety requirements at the end of work 5.1. Turn off equipment. Wait for it to come to a complete stop. Tidy up the workplace: remove tools, fixtures; clean the machine from dirt and dust; wipe and lubricate the rubbing parts of the machine; neatly fold the finished parts and the remaining material. 5.2. Cleaning of wood waste (sawdust, shavings, dust) from the surface of the equipment, as well as from overalls, is carried out with a brush, sweep or using vacuum cleaners. It is unacceptable to blow the machine and clothes with compressed air. 5.3. Rags used during work and when cleaning, put the rags in a special metal box with a closing lid and take it outside the workshop to a specially designated place. 5.4. Wash hands with warm water and soap. 5.5. Report all noticed shortcomings in the operation of the equipment to the shift worker or foreman.
