Safe Operation

1. General safety requirements

1.1. To work as an upholsterer, persons who have passed:

medical commission upon admission to work;
industrial training in the profession and testing of knowledge in the qualification commission;
safety briefing;
safety briefing for the electrical safety group 1.

1.2. Only work that is the responsibility of the upholsterer or entrusted by the management of the enterprise should be performed, indicating the place and provided that the worker is well aware of the safety rules for performing work.

1.3. During work, as well as being on the territory of the production premises, be attentive, not be distracted and not distract the attention of others.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Put on and tidy up your uniform.

2.2. Inspect the workplace, clear the passages and do not block them. If there are oil leaks, sprinkle this place with sawdust or sand and remove them.

2.3. Check and prepare tools and fixtures:

percussion tool - chisels, crosscuts, center punches should not have cracks, cold hardening;
hammers and sledgehammers should have a slightly convex, not knocked down, without cracks and work hardening surface of the striker;
the handles of hammers and sledgehammers must have a smooth surface, be made of hard and viscous wood, firmly mounted and riveted with steel wedges. Handles should not have cracks, knots, bundles;
the abrasive wheel of the grinding machine must not have chips, cracks, be correctly installed and fixed. The case must be grounded.

2.4. The tools and materials required for repair and tightening should be placed so that they do not interfere with work, do not block the passage, and cannot fall.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Install the product in a special slipway, ensuring reliable fastening and the necessary passages.

3.2. Take special care when working with grinders. Have special safety goggles with side flaps. Protect the ejection zone of abrasive and metal burrs to avoid injury to other workers. Vibration of the grinding wheel is not allowed.

3.3. Do not allow unauthorized persons not related to work to work without the permission of the master.

3.4. Timely fill the cutting edges of the tool, without reducing the optimal sharpening angles (to avoid twisting the drill).

3.5. Avoid burrs, nicks on the percussion instrument.

3.6. The workplace at the slipway must be kept clean, there should be no spilled oil, chips, waste of the workpiece, scraps of metal, material on the floor.

3.7. When aligning the holes and installing the bolts, do not insert your fingers into the aligned holes, use special barbs for this purpose.

3.8. Cutting the material is carried out on a special table, observing safety measures when working with a cutting tool.

3.9. The working surface of the table must be smooth.

3.10. Do not use when working cartridges with protruding stoppers, screws, bolts. If there are moving parts, they must be protected.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Upon detection of broken electric cartridges, faulty switches, electrical wires with damaged insulation, as well as in all cases of electric shock, you must immediately inform the management to eliminate violations and provide first aid.

4.2. In the event of an accident or an accident, the upholsterer must:

switch off the portable power tool immediately;
provide first aid to the victim;
himself or through other workers to call an ambulance;
report the incident to the supervisor.

5. Safety requirements upon completion of work

5.1. Remove the product from the table and place on the spacers.

5.2. Tidy up the workplace, remove tools and fixtures, remove foreign objects and materials from the aisles.

5.3. Report all problems to the master.

Scientists have recorded an unprecedented burst of gamma rays (GRB), which at some wavelengths looked brighter than any similar burst of energy observed before. The burst was named GRB 221009A and was first detected by the Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope, a joint project between NASA and the US Department of Energy, as well as the space agencies of France, Italy, Japan and Sweden.

Gamma-ray bursts are large-scale cosmic bursts of gamma rays in the electromagnetic spectrum that can result from various phenomena, such as the death of large stars. Such events are the brightest electromagnetic events in the Universe. The recent gamma-ray burst recorded on October 9 was reported by NASA scientists working with the Fermi Gamma Ray Telescope and the Neil Gerels Swift Space Observatory.

Astronomer Phil Evans of the University of Leicester said the latest gamma-ray burst "is clearly the brightest GRB we've seen in X-rays."

"The new GRB 221009A is about 1000 times brighter than a typical GRB and several hundred times brighter than the brightest previously observed, but this is only true for X-rays. In gamma rays, it is one of the brightest GRBs ever observed." Evans said.

The gamma-ray burst detector housed in the structure of the Fermi telescope is the most prolific GRB detector. On average, it captures one gamma-ray burst per day and has collected data from thousands of such events over about 14 years of operation. "Of the thousands, the October 9 flare was by far the brightest," said Markos Santander, an astronomer at the University of Alabama. He noted that the flash was so strong that it "blinded the instruments for a while."

Probably, GRB 221009A marks the energetic death of a massive star and its subsequent transformation into a black hole. The event is unparalleled at some wavelengths, in part because it happened about 2 billion light-years from Earth. Despite the fact that the distance seems huge, for gamma-ray bursts it is not. Scientists intend to continue studying this phenomenon to understand why the birth of a distant black hole gave rise to such a dazzling cosmic "fireworks".

"The key scientific point here is that we are looking at really extreme physical phenomena - very strong gravity, large masses moving at very high speeds and extremely hot - conditions that cannot be created in the laboratory. The only way to begin to understand this is to study extreme astronomical events such as GRB," says Phil Evans.
