10. Forms of government

There are two main forms of government - monarchy and republic. Their supreme bodies differ from each other both in the order of formation, and in composition, and in competence.

Monarchy - this is a form of government in which all the fullness of state power is concentrated in the hands of one person - the monarch (king, king, shah, emperor, sultan, etc.), who performs the functions of both head of state, and legislative, and in many ways executive power .

Under an unlimited (absolute) monarchy, the monarch is the only supreme body of the state. He performs a legislative function, manages the executive authorities, controls justice.

Under a limited monarchy, the highest state power is dispersed between the monarch and another body or bodies (the Zemsky Sobor in the Russian Empire). The limited ones include a class-representative monarchy and a modern constitutional monarchy, in which the power of the monarch is limited by the constitution, parliament, government and an independent court.

Republic - a form of government in which:

1) state power is transferred by the people to a certain collegial, and not an individual body (senate, parliament, people's assembly, federal assembly, etc.), which performs its functional purpose in the mode of "checks and balances" with other branches of power;

2) representative power is replaceable, elected for a certain period;

3) the accountability and responsibility of the authorities for the results of their activities is legislated.

Signs of the republic:

1) electivity and turnover of representative power;

2) collegiality of the board;

3) accountability and responsibility (political and legal) of the authorities for the results of their activities.

Modern republics are divided into parliamentary and presidential.

In a parliamentary republic Parliament is endowed not only with legislative powers, but also with the right to resign the government, expressing no confidence in it, the government is responsible to parliament for its activities. The President of the Republic is the head of state, but not the head of government. The government is formed by the party that wins the parliamentary elections.

Presidential republic - This is a form of government in which the president, directly under certain parliamentary control, forms a government that is responsible to him for its activities.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

Universal wireless charger from Samsung 17.05.2012

Samsung has formed an alliance with Qualcomm and others to standardize and distribute wireless charging for smartphones and tablets.

Korean company Samsung Electronics, the largest manufacturer of mobile phones, and Qualcomm, a leading US manufacturer of processors for mobile devices, announced their intention to accelerate the development and standardization of wireless battery charging systems in portable electronics.

To this end, the partners formed an alliance called the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP), which, in addition to these companies, included: Ever Win Industries, Gill Industries, Peiker Acustic, Powermat Technologies and SK Telecom. The announcement was timed to the exhibition in the field of wireless telecommunications CTIA Wireless 2012 in New Orleans, USA.
The partners said in a statement that A4WP's activities will be dedicated to the development of wireless battery charging systems. And not only with the help of special docking stations, but also by installing charging circuits in furniture and car upholstery. The partners acknowledge that they plan to build on existing developments in this area. For example, Qualcomm's WiPower technology is "ideal to be considered by an alliance such as A4WP," the report says.

In addition, Samsung has already announced the introduction of wireless charging technology in a mass product - the new flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S III. Announcing the mobile phone last week, the company representatives said that one of the accessories to it will be a wireless charger. According to SlashGear, the accessory will go on sale no earlier than September.

The technology is found in other products that are already on the market. The wireless charging option, for example, is available on the Palm Pre smartphone, HP TouchPad tablet and Dell Latitude Z laptop, which uses technology developed by Fulton Innovation.

It's worth noting that A4WP is not the first alliance to focus on standardizing wireless chargers. In August 2009, the Wireless Power Consortium published a specification for a standard called Qi, which was intended to speed up the adoption of the technology to the masses. The first Qi-based product was announced in September of the same year.

According to IMS Research, by 2015 the global market for wireless charging devices will exceed 100 million in quantitative terms.
