On the ridge of the roof of the house I made a weather vane "Carlson". Its design is very simple to manufacture. “Carlson” himself was made from a metal sheet 2 mm thick. The figurine and the rod from a rod Ø 8 - 10 mm were rigidly riveted together. As a rotation unit I used a bicycle wheel hub with bearings. Below I firmly fixed large fishing bells (in the places indicated in the sketch). The same bell is in “Carlson’s” hand. Due to natural vibration when the propeller rotates and gusts of wind, all the bells ring.

It is desirable to paint the figurine with resistant automotive paint in bright colors, and equally on both sides.

The weather vane "Carlson", with ringing bells, delights not only children, but arouses curiosity in adults. In addition, annoying feathered thieves have noticeably decreased in the garden: sparrows, thrushes.
