21. EURASIAN BIG RACE

The Eurasian (or Caucasoid) large race is characterized by a light or swarthy skin color, straight or wavy soft hair, abundant beard and mustache growth, a narrow, sharply protruding nose, high nose bridge, sagittal nostrils, a small oral fissure, thin lips.

Distribution area - Europe, North Africa, Western Asia, North India. The Caucasoid race is subdivided into a number of minor races:

1) Atlanto-Baltic: fair skin, fair hair and eyes, long nose, tall stature;

2) Central European: less light pigmentation of hair and eyes, somewhat smaller growth;

3) Indo-Mediterranean: dark coloration of hair and eyes, swarthy skin, wavy hair, even more elongated nose than in previous races, somewhat more convex bridge of the nose, very narrow face;

4) Balkan-Caucasian: dark hair, dark eyes, bulging nose, very abundant development of tertiary hairline, relatively short and very wide face, tall;

5) White Sea-Baltic: very light, but somewhat more pigmented than the Atlanto-Baltic, medium hair length, relatively short nose with a straight or concave back, small face and medium height.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Mini air conditioner Sony Reon Pocket 5 09.05.2024

Summer is a time for relaxation and travel, but often the heat can turn this time into an unbearable torment. Meet a new product from Sony - the Reon Pocket 5 mini-air conditioner, which promises to make summer more comfortable for its users. Sony has introduced a unique device - the Reon Pocket 5 mini-conditioner, which provides body cooling on hot days. With it, users can enjoy coolness anytime, anywhere by simply wearing it around their neck. This mini air conditioner is equipped with automatic adjustment of operating modes, as well as temperature and humidity sensors. Thanks to innovative technologies, Reon Pocket 5 adjusts its operation depending on the user's activity and environmental conditions. Users can easily adjust the temperature using a dedicated mobile app connected via Bluetooth. Additionally, specially designed T-shirts and shorts are available for convenience, to which a mini air conditioner can be attached. The device can oh ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

Quantum sensor for measuring the intensity, polarization and wavelength of light 05.06.2022

A team of researchers from Yale University and the University of Texas at Dallas have created a tiny quantum optical sensor that is about one-thousandth the size of a human hair. But, despite such a small size, this sensor has the widest possibilities, using the quantum properties of electrons, it is able to simultaneously measure the intensity, polarization and wavelength of light. The creation of such a universal sensor will allow in the future to make significant breakthroughs in the fields of astronomy, health care and remote sensing.

In recent years, scientists have found that twisting or otherwise deforming certain materials can, in some cases, give those materials certain properties that they do not normally possess. In this case, the scientists also used such a method, applying it to a two-layer graphene, which was called TDBG (twisted double bilayer graphene). Twisting graphene breaks the symmetry of its crystal lattice and endows graphene with completely new properties.

Such a change in the properties of graphene led to the fact that the so-called anomalous photovoltaic effect (APVE) began to strongly manifest itself in curved graphene. This effect consists in the conversion of light into an electric current, the magnitude of which depends proportionally on the intensity, polarization and wavelength of the light. Moreover, some of the parameters of this effect can be "tuned" by voltage applied to the graphene.

Next, the scientists created a specialized artificial neural network, which was trained on data received from a graphene sensor, which was irradiated with light with various parameters. And after such training, the neural network became able to "decode" the sensor readings, giving reliable and accurate results for each of the light parameters mentioned above.

The small dimensions of the new intelligent sensor, which alone can replace rather complex, bulky and expensive devices, will make it possible in the future to create completely new types of astronomical instruments, medical diagnostic equipment, vision systems for autonomous vehicles and aircraft, etc. In addition, the work carried out by scientists opens up a whole new area in which "deformed" materials will act as non-linear optical components.
