84. CLASSIFICATION OF COSTS

Logistic costs - costs associated with the implementation of logistics operations (placement of orders for the supply of products, purchase, warehousing of incoming products, intra-production transportation, intermediate storage, storage of finished products, shipping, external transportation), as well as costs for personnel, equipment, premises, warehouse stocks, for the transfer of data on orders, stocks, deliveries.

Cost classification:

1) by the degree of value added creation:

▪ productive costs - costs of work aimed at creating added value;

▪ costs of maintaining a logistics business - in themselves create value, but they are necessary (for transportation, placing orders, keeping records of products);

▪ unprofitable costs - costs for work that cannot produce results (for equipment downtime);

▪ control costs - costs of activities aimed at preventing undesirable results of customer service;

2) according to the mechanism of assignment to a specific carrier:

▪ direct costs - costs that can be directly attributed to a specific medium (product, group of products, order);

▪ indirect costs - costs that can be attributed to the carrier only by performing auxiliary calculations;

3) in connection with the volume of production:

▪ variable costs - costs that depend on the volume of production (costs of changeover, placing an order, storing or storing inventory over time);

▪ fixed costs - costs that do not depend on changes in the volume of executed orders from internal and external consumers;

▪ total costs - the total amount of costs allocated to a specific object (product, product group, order, cost location, production area), both dependent and independent of the volume of orders being executed;

▪ partial costs - parts of costs attributable to a specific object, allocated according to certain characteristics. These costs typically depend on the volume of orders being processed;

▪ actual costs - costs actually attributable to a given object in the period under review with the actual volume of consumer orders being fulfilled and equal to the volume of consumed resources multiplied by the current prices for these resources;

▪ normal costs - average costs attributable to a certain object in the period under review with the actual volume of service. These costs are equal to the actual volume of resources consumed multiplied by their average prices;

▪ planned costs - costs calculated for a certain logistics facility and a certain period with a given service program, volume of consumer orders and technology. These costs are equal to the planned volume of resource consumption multiplied by their planned prices;

▪ opportunity costs - characterize lost profits. It is due to the fact that a limited amount of resources can only be used in a certain way, which excludes the use of another possible option that ensures profit;

▪ transaction costs - costs associated with processing procurement.

Latest news of science and technology, new electronics:

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Intel Tunnel Falls silicon qubit processor 12.06.2023

Intel announced the release of the Tunnel Falls processor, equipped with 12 silicon qubits, and made it available to quantum researchers. Tunnel Falls allows scientists to immediately begin experiments and calculations, instead of wasting time building their own devices. This expands the possibilities of research in the field of the foundations of qubits, quantum dots and the development of new methods for working with multi-qubit devices.

The Tunnel Falls chip is manufactured on 300mm wafers at the Intel D1 factory. This 12-qubit device utilizes Intel's industry-leading transistor manufacturing technologies, including Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (EUV). Silicon spin qubits encode information (0/1) using the spin (direction of rotation) of the electron. Each qubit is an electronic transistor that can be produced using technology similar to a standard line based on complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS).

Through the application of this manufacturing technology, Tunnel Falls achieves high performance, delivering 95% chip yield across the entire wafer, resulting in over 24 working quantum chips per wafer. These chips can be configured from 000 to 4 qubits, which can be isolated or used simultaneously according to the needs of the researchers.

Intel claims that silicon spin qubits are superior to other qubit technologies due to their compatibility with advanced transistors. With dimensions comparable to that of a transistor (approximately 50x50 nm), they are several orders of magnitude smaller than other types of qubits and, according to Nature Electronics, have "the greatest potential for scaling quantum computing."

In an effort to further research into hardware, Intel is actively investigating various parameters such as quantum dot sizes, qubit geometry, and length. In addition, the company is integrating performance testing tools into its chips.

Intel also announced partnerships with several institutions, including the University of Maryland Physical Science Laboratory, the College Park Qubit Collaboratory, the National Quantum Information Science Research Center, and Sandia National Laboratories. These collaborations are aimed at the development of quantum computing. The company plans to make its Intel Quantum Software Development Kit (SDK) version 1.0 available to developers and researchers later this year through the Intel Developer Cloud.

The integration of silicon qubits into the Tunnel Falls processor and their availability to the scientific community is a significant step in the development of quantum computing. This allows researchers to turn to more complex problems, accelerating progress in the field. Quantum computing based on silicon spin qubits is expected to make a significant contribution to science, technology, and solving complex problems that cannot be effectively solved by classical computers.
