Introduction to cultural history
Before talking about the history of culture, it is necessary to reveal the content of the main concept of the topic. To date, there are at least 1 definitions of the concept of "culture". The word "culture", in addition, has several meanings in the Russian language. Perhaps the simplest and at the same time comprehensive is the following definition (definition): "Culture" is everything created by man, because animals do not have culture. Culture is the product of exclusively human activity."
By the term "culture" we will understand not only all material, but also spiritual values created by a person in a specific period of his existence and in a certain territory, as well as the spirit of an era, a nation (what is usually denoted by the word mentality). This will give us the right to classify world culture according to the following principles:
1. According to temporal characteristics (ancient, medieval, modern culture, etc.)
2. On a territorial basis (Arabic, Chinese culture, etc.).
The purpose of this manual is to acquaint the reader with the history of world culture, some terms that every educated person should know, as well as to give an idea of the specifics and patterns of development of world cultures, to highlight the values that dominate in a particular culture, their meaning and meaning.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to consider the world culture in full within the framework of this manual. Such interesting pages as the culture of the American Indians, African culture, etc. will remain outside of it. However, we hope that this manual will find application in the educational process and become an incentive for self-expanding one's knowledge.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven
09.05.2024
Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Users can easily adjust the temperature using a dedicated mobile app connected via Bluetooth. Additionally, specially designed T-shirts and shorts are available for convenience, to which a mini air conditioner can be attached. The device can oh ... >>
Energy from space for Starship
08.05.2024
Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>
Random news from the Archive Cooling paint for facades
17.07.2020
The use of white paint for the facades of buildings located in those regions of the Earth where the very hot and aggressive Sun usually shines is more than a rational and reasonable step - after all, white paint reflects sunlight well, thereby allowing buildings and surfaces to remain colder.
On the other hand, most modern commercial white facade paints do not have the level of UV reflection that one would like to have on the hottest days, and therefore a team of material engineers from the University of California presented their own development of a new effective paint.
This is not a completely new type of white building paint, but rather an improved format of an existing one, thus having a wider profile to reflect light. Worth noting is the fact that the presented super-white paint - as described by the experts themselves - in preliminary tests was able to reflect up to 98% of outgoing ultraviolet sunlight, which is a really impressive result, given that the best offers on the market can reflect up to 85% rays max.
The secret to such an effective reflection result lies in the fact that instead of using traditional and standard titanium oxide, a team of specialists from the University of California used a pigment called barite, as well as Teflon, which allowed them to be combined into the so-called polytetrafluoroethylene - the active component, due to which it is possible reflect a really huge amount of outgoing ultraviolet rays from the Sun.
So far, the new paint uses an excessive amount of expensive polymers - and this is the most indicative problem in order to offer a quality commercial version of the paint.
