Topic 23. Overdraft

Overdraft - (over the remainder (English)) - variety current credit - lending on a current account. A type of loan provided to a borrower to make payments in the absence of funds in his account or current account.

It represents a form of short-term lending to the client’s total need for funds when there is insufficient funds in the account to make payments and settlements. Specific features of overdraft:

1) creditor - not only CB, but also the Central Bank, 2) borrowers - a) CB, if correspondent relations allow the possibility of overdraft. b) CB divisions in the process of intrabank settlements, c) f.l. - entrepreneurs. For regular f.l. overdraft is not provided.

Features of the overdraft operation:

1) all transactions are reflected on the borrower’s account, t/c or cash account, 2) the overdraft is negotiated upon the initial conclusion of a cash settlement service agreement (CSA) with the bank. 3) debt limit is most often not provided. 4) overdraft terms are fixed in the agreement (no more than 10-15 days). If the deadline is violated, the debt is transferred to the category of ordinary loans. 5) the loan fee is determined as the amount of the actual overdraft amount + % rate. 6) lending is reflected in special accounts.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Mini air conditioner Sony Reon Pocket 5 09.05.2024

Summer is a time for relaxation and travel, but often the heat can turn this time into an unbearable torment. Meet a new product from Sony - the Reon Pocket 5 mini-air conditioner, which promises to make summer more comfortable for its users. Sony has introduced a unique device - the Reon Pocket 5 mini-conditioner, which provides body cooling on hot days. With it, users can enjoy coolness anytime, anywhere by simply wearing it around their neck. This mini air conditioner is equipped with automatic adjustment of operating modes, as well as temperature and humidity sensors. Thanks to innovative technologies, Reon Pocket 5 adjusts its operation depending on the user's activity and environmental conditions. Users can easily adjust the temperature using a dedicated mobile app connected via Bluetooth. Additionally, specially designed T-shirts and shorts are available for convenience, to which a mini air conditioner can be attached. The device can oh ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

The coldest place in space 11.08.2018

Representatives of the American space agency NASA reported that astronaut scientists, using the Cold Atom Laboratory (CAL) facility, delivered aboard the International Space Station in May this year, created a gas cloud consisting of supercooled atoms, which is known in science as Bose condensate. Einstein. The temperature of the created condensate was not much higher than the temperature of absolute zero, and at such a temperature the atoms of the gas were free from thermal fluctuations and were in a state of absolute rest.

This achievement marks the first time in the history of science that a Bose-Einstein condensate has been created in outer space and zero gravity. Under these conditions, supercold atoms provide a more stable platform for studying various quantum phenomena. We remind our readers that the Bose-Einstein condensate is considered the fifth type of state of matter, different from gases, liquids, solid particles and plasma. Due to the quantum nature of the condensate, its particles act more like waves than physical particles.

Rubidium atoms were used in the CAL setup to create a Bose-Einstein condensate, as in most of these experiments. The temperature to which these atoms were cooled during the experiment was only 100 nanoKelvin, one ten-millionth of a degree Kelvin above absolute zero. Note that the scientists working in the framework of the CAL experiment are going to cool the atoms of the condensate even deeper in the near future and reach such low temperatures that cannot be obtained on Earth by any means due to the influence of Earth's gravity.

During the experiments, scientists noticed that the atoms of the "cosmic version" of the Bose-Einstein condensate behave somewhat differently than the atoms of condensates created on Earth. And to study these differences more carefully, the scientists of the CAL experiment plan to create a condensate from two different isotopes of potassium.
