Topic 18. Organizational structure of a commercial bank, the role and functions of individual units
Commercial banks are credit organizations of a non-state nature that carry out banking operations on a business basis to service legal entities and individuals. They operate on the basis of licenses issued by the Central Bank of Russia.
The organizational structure includes: the board of the bank; bank board; bank affairs management; legal affairs unit; management of financing control; stock center; accounting department; settlement center; depository; Human Resources Department; security service, etc. The board of the bank is the governing body. The executor is the chairman of the board and his deputy. The work of the board and members of the board of the bank is regulated by special provisions. The structure of the business management organization includes such units as the office and the secretariat, the personnel department and others. Accounting - a structural unit that carries out accounting, which reflects all operations of the bank in cash. The balance sheet, documentation, accounts are used. According to accounting data, the accounting department prepares financial statements. The operational department of the bank provides settlement and cash services to customers, settlement, credit, cash and other operations, as well as draws up open settlement, current and other accounts of customers.
The functions of a commercial bank can be performed by various structural divisions:
1) management of foreign exchange transactions;
2) settlement center (solving problems related to the maintenance of office equipment, software, development and implementation of new services);
3) automation of banking technologies (selection, development, installation and operation of software products).
One of the most important areas of the bank: economic analysis, internal control, improvement of banking activities.
A depository is a special banking structure that provides acceptance and storage of valuables. A special security department of the bank ensures the safety and reliability of the functioning of the bank's divisions.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven
09.05.2024
Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship
08.05.2024
Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>
Random news from the Archive SOI process technology for RF chips for mass applications
05.12.2015
Toshiba Electronics Europe announced the development of a new generation TarfSOI (Toshiba advanced RF SOI) workflow optimized for the production of radio frequency (RF) switches. RF switch ICs made using the new TaRF8 process technology, such as the new SP12T devices, provide the industry's lowest insertion loss class. SP12T RF switch IC trial samples based on the new manufacturing process will begin shipping in January 2016.
The SP12T RF switch ICs designed for smartphones have an integrated MIPI-RFFE controller for mobile solutions. The switches can be used in 3GPP GSM, UMTS, W-CDMA, LTE, and LTE-Advanced devices.
Products manufactured using the new TaRF8 SOI-CMOS TarfSOI wafer process provide the industry's lowest insertion loss class of 0,32 dB at 2,7 GHz. Compared to products based on Toshiba's current TaRF6 process technology, insertion loss is improved by 0,1 dB while maintaining the same level of distortion.
Today's mobile communications require the transmission of large amounts of data at high speeds, and therefore the RF switch ICs used in mobile devices and smartphones must support multi-port operation and have improved RF performance. Reducing insertion loss is considered particularly important in this regard, as it reduces the loss of radio signal transmission power, thereby increasing the battery life of mobile devices.
Toshiba develops high-performance RF switch ICs in-house using SOI-CMOS technology, which integrates analog and discrete circuits. By pursuing all aspects of the manufacturing process, from RF component process development to RF switch IC design and manufacturing, Toshiba is able to rapidly develop SOI-CMOS technology based on the results of its own RF switch IC development. Working as an integrated device manufacturer (IDM) allows the company to quickly create new manufacturing process technologies suitable for mass production and bring products to market using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.
The company will continue to improve the efficiency of its own TarfSOI process and meet market and customer needs for RF switch ICs by introducing products based on the latest technologies ahead of other manufacturers.
