80. ACCOUNTING FOR PROVISIONS TO COVER UPCOMING EXPENSES

In the daily activities of an organization, as a rule, there is a need to create reserve to cover upcoming expenses. This type of reserve is formed if it is provided for by the accounting policy of the organization. The reserve is created at the expense of internal resources by inclusion in the costs of production of products (works, services) or sales costs in the reporting year. The regulations on accounting and financial reporting (clause 72) are allowed create reserves:

▪ for upcoming vacation payments, including payments for social insurance and employee benefits;

▪ payment of annual remuneration for length of service;

▪ repair of fixed assets (if provided for by the accounting policy);

▪ production costs for preparatory work due to the seasonal nature of production;

▪ upcoming costs for land reclamation and implementation of other environmental measures;

▪ warranty repairs and warranty service;

▪ other purposes provided for by law.

To account for reserves, a passive account 96 "Reserves for future expenses" is intended, which reflects the amounts reserved in the prescribed manner in order to evenly allocate expenses to production and sale costs.

On credit account 96 Monthly deductions accumulate sources of funds to cover the established costs. At the same time, entries are made: Dt 08, Kt 96.

On debit account 96 the actual expenditures for the corresponding purposes are reflected. In this case, postings are made: Dt 96, Kt 10. The balance of account 96 indicates the accrued reserve in previous periods, which will be spent in future reporting periods.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Mini air conditioner Sony Reon Pocket 5 09.05.2024

Summer is a time for relaxation and travel, but often the heat can turn this time into an unbearable torment. Meet a new product from Sony - the Reon Pocket 5 mini-air conditioner, which promises to make summer more comfortable for its users. Sony has introduced a unique device - the Reon Pocket 5 mini-conditioner, which provides body cooling on hot days. With it, users can enjoy coolness anytime, anywhere by simply wearing it around their neck. This mini air conditioner is equipped with automatic adjustment of operating modes, as well as temperature and humidity sensors. Thanks to innovative technologies, Reon Pocket 5 adjusts its operation depending on the user's activity and environmental conditions. Users can easily adjust the temperature using a dedicated mobile app connected via Bluetooth. Additionally, specially designed T-shirts and shorts are available for convenience, to which a mini air conditioner can be attached. The device can oh ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

Electronics powered by the ear 23.11.2012

For the first time, scientists have been able to power an implanted electronic device from a natural battery using an electrical potential deep in the inner ear. Deep in the inner ear of mammals is a chamber filled with ions that produces an electrical potential to control the signals of neurons. In a recent issue of the journal Nature, a team of researchers from MIT and Harvard showed for the first time that this natural battery can actually power an electronic device.

The device can monitor biological activity in the hearing aid of people with hearing or balance impairments. Potentially, knowing the tensions in various disease states, it is possible to develop new, effective diagnostic algorithms. In the experiments, the researchers implanted electrodes into "biological batteries" in the ears of guinea pigs. Low-power electronic devices were attached to the electrodes. The pigs' hearing was not affected after implantation, and the devices were able to transmit data on the chemical conditions in the ear to an external receiver.

“In the past, people believed that a place where there is a high potential is inaccessible to implantable devices, and any intervention there is very dangerous. For 60 years we have known that such a battery exists, but no one has even tried to use it to power useful electronics," says Konstantin Stankovich, otosurgeon.

The ear converts mechanical force - the vibrations of the eardrum - into electrochemical signals, which are then processed by the brain. Located in a part of the ear called the cochlea, the battery compartment is divided by a membrane, some of whose cells are capable of pumping ions. An imbalance of sodium and potassium ions on different sides of the membrane creates an electrical voltage. Although this tension is the highest in the body, it is still very small. To use it, it is necessary to work with extremely low-power electronic chips. To do this, the chip control scheme must be extremely simplified, which is what the researchers implemented. True, in the experiment, the chip itself was still placed outside the guinea pig's ear - only electrodes were implanted on both sides of the membrane - but the device is already small enough to be placed directly in the ear.
