The UD-1,6 wind turbine is high-speed. Due to the high speed of rotation in the wing, large forces arise. Therefore, if the wing breaks and flies away, then it can cause an accident. In addition, by rotating rapidly, the wings can touch and injure anyone who climbs onto the site and inadvertently approaches the wind turbine.

To avoid accidents and ensure reliable operation of the installation, the safety and technical operation of the wind turbine should be strictly followed, which are discussed in more detail below.

When caring for the UD-1,6 wind turbine, the electrical part requires the most attention. When looking for the causes of a malfunction, it is useful to have a portable electric lamp with a long cord. It is convenient to check faults in all electrical circuits with such a lamp. So, by connecting it to the wires of the generator (with the batteries disconnected), it is easy to check whether the generator is giving current. If you turn off the generator and connect a lamp to the same wires, then by pressing the armature of the relay and thereby supplying current from the battery, you can check the rest of the electrical circuit.

In relatively light winds, the engine sometimes cannot move. In order to start it from the ground, it is necessary to supply current to the generator from the batteries by pressing the relay contact with your hand or by pressing an additional button made especially for such a start.

The main conditions for the normal care of the wind turbine while observing the most important safety rules are the following:

1. Climbing to the platform of the working bridge under the head of the wind turbine is possible only when the wind is not strong and only when the wind turbine is stopped.

2. Being at the top of the bridge, it is necessary to be tied to the support post with a fire belt or a rope tested for five times the weight of a person.

3. Every week in the first month of operation and then monthly, it is necessary to check the fastening of all bolts, in particular the bolts that fasten the wings to the hub and to the generator shaft. The rope tied to the tail at the first launch must be untied when it is no longer necessary, but while it is tied, care must be taken that it does not fall into the rotating wings.

5. At least 2 times a year, you need to wash the engine ball bearings with gasoline and lubricate them with oil.

6. Once every 15-20 days it is necessary to lubricate the friction bearing in the generator, cables and roller axles.

7. In ice, ice should be cleared from engine parts or sprinkled with table salt on the wings.

8. If the wings are out of balance, stop the engine immediately, find out and eliminate the cause.

9. It is necessary to ensure that the distance from each wing to the pole at any position of the wing and change in wind direction is not less than 50 mm, considering that the wing bends during operation and turns of the engine, and therefore can touch the pole and collapse.

10. Pantograph rings should be cleaned every 1-2 months. If there is no pantograph, then more than 5 turns of cable and wires around the pole should not be allowed to form. If the turns are formed, then you need to rotate the engine around the pole so as to completely unwind the cable and wire.

11. All engine parts must be painted before installation and repainted every 3 years. Wooden wings, tail and shovel should be replaced every 3 years.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Vibration feeds the sensor 20.08.2006

Scientists from the USA have made a hydrogen sensor that receives energy from vibration.

Hydrogen is highly explosive, but it has no color or odor. Therefore, it is possible to detect its leakage only with the help of sensors, the need for which will increase with the development of hydrogen energy. And then the problem of batteries for these sensors will arise: it is very tedious to change them from time to time in dozens of devices.

"We have been able to create a sensor that works without batteries," says Associate Professor Lin Yongshan from the University of Florida. The sensitive element of the sensor is made of nanowires - zinc oxide whiskers, through which an extremely small electric current flows. The conductivity of these wires is the higher, the more hydrogen is in the ambient air.

The microcontroller converts the information about the conductivity of the whiskers into gas concentration data and sends a radio signal to the central processor of the system. And he is already monitoring the situation. The energy source for the sensor is a piezocrystal, which converts into electricity the vibration of the mechanism on the surface of which the sensor is glued, for example, a pump or engine part.

Tests have shown that the sensor is very sensitive, it is able to detect even 10 hydrogen molecules among a million air molecules, and transmits information over a distance of 20 meters.
