All articles of the project Self-made wind power plant:

The pre-assembly of the wind turbine is done below, on a small temporary column, the diameter of which is equal to the diameter of the column, on which the wind turbine will be finally installed. A temporary post (1,25 m high) is installed indoors, attaching it to the goats or to the table. A cutout is made at the upper end of the column (as shown in Fig. 2) and a riser pipe 44 is attached to it with clamps. Lubricating rings are placed on the riser and the head is put on, after which a cotter pin or pin is laid to protect the head from jumping off the riser. Then attach the generator, wings, tail and shovel.

As a cable, you can use a field telephone cable with 5-7 flexible wires.

The cable 41 is of such length that the tail and the shovel can be exactly at right angles to each other when they assume the position of fig. 3a. Do not tie the ends of the cable to the bolts. It is necessary to bend each end of the cable around the bolt with a loop and turn it back along the cable, and then braid it with 7-8 turns of copper wire and solder it with tin. With such termination, the ends of the cable do not tear and do not rust if they are painted.

Cable 42 is fixed under the same bolt 46 (Fig. 2) to which cable 41 is attached. A washer must be placed between the cable and the bolt nut from above. Next, the cable 42 passes through the rollers into the hole of the part 10, and then exits the pipe 44 down. If you pull the cable from below, then the tail will turn in its hinge and approach the side shovel. In order for it to return to its original position, it is necessary to tighten the spring 20 between the bracket 32 and the clamp 18,

Spring 20 should first be hung without tension. Then it is gradually pulled, and it will turn the tail perpendicular to the side shovel or, which also sets the tail in the same direction as the axis of the generator. The tension of the spring is checked by hanging a weight of 42 kg from the lower end of the cable 44 coming out of the pipe 1,5. In this case, the spring should not stretch. If such a load with a cable is raised to a height of 200-250 mm and then allowed to fall down, then the tail should begin to fold with a shovel. If this is not the case, then the clamp 18 should be accordingly brought closer to the axis 13 of the tail rotation. If the tail begins to fold when the load falls already from a height of 100-120 mm, then the bracket 18 must be moved further from the axis 13 and thereby tighten the spring more (spring tension is adjusted only by moving part 18).

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Bus over the road 03.11.2010

The Beijing city government is set to implement an unusual project that should reduce traffic congestion by 30%: a bus on high "legs" that allow other vehicles to pass under it. Rails are laid along the sides of the road, and along them runs a long articulated structure with a ground clearance of more than two meters and a width of up to six meters, accommodating 1200-1400 passengers.

Cars will be able to pass under this "superbus". Of course, special stopping pavilions will have to be built on the road, corresponding to the height of the floor of a giant bus. And the road itself should be as straight as possible, without slopes and not have bridges below five meters.

In the near future, they promise to lay an experimental section of such a road six kilometers long in the west of the Chinese capital.

If the tests are successful, in two years the total length of roads suitable for the "superbus" will be 186 kilometers. This will include the route to Beijing International Airport. It would cost ten times less to build this network than to build subway lines of the same length.
