Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production".

1.2. Dangerous and harmful production factors

1.2.1. Increased dust and gas content in the air of the working area.

Sources: harmful substances released when the adhesive is heated.

Action factor: the possibility of respiratory diseases.

1.2.2. Increased level of electromagnetic radiation.

Source: high-frequency generator.

Action factor: radiation of electromagnetic fields in the working area.

1.2.3. Increased voltage in the electrical circuit, the closure of which can occur through the human body.

Sources of the factor: high-frequency generator; electric power of three-phase current with a voltage of 380 V.

Action factor: dangerous exposure to high voltage.

1.3. Personal protective equipment: apron; combined gloves. In case of constant work with resin adhesives, an additional cotton suit is required.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Tidy up the workplace in front of the high-frequency generator.

On the floor in front of the high-frequency generator, dielectric rubber mats or dry wooden insulating stands without metal fasteners should be laid. Check the availability of instructions for the technical operation of the installations.

2.2. Check that the screening of the installation is correct. The press or wyma must be protected from all sides by a metal screen made of sheet steel. The screen must provide free access to the working gap over the entire cross section when the pressing device is in the open state.

2.3. Check the condition of the interlocks.

The doors of the high frequency generator, electrical switchboard and control panels must be closed. With the doors of the generator and the supply panel open, it is not allowed to start working on high-frequency generators.

Make sure that the blocking ensures that the generator is switched on only in the sequence specified in the installation's technical operation manual.

The generator interlock is adjusted so that when the unit doors are open, the mechanical interlock switch drive cannot be turned on, and when the mechanical interlock switch drive is turned on, the unit doors cannot be opened.

The blocking of the cooling water supply (where there is cooling of the anode of the generator lamp) is adjusted so that without a supply of running water it is impossible to turn on the cable of the generator lamp.

2.4. Turn on ventilation, check the operation of local suction. Local suctions must be interlocked with a high-frequency generator so that its operation is impossible without the operation of local suctions.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Carry out work in accordance with the instructions for the technical operation of the installations.

3.2. When applying glue to the veneer (part), use rubber gloves.

3.3. Glue the parts corresponding to the profile of the pressing device.

3.4. Follow the indications of control and measuring devices.

3.5. Make sure that sparks do not appear in the details of the press or clamp.

3.6. In case of charring of glue or workpieces, fire, the appearance of any extraneous sounds, turn off the device to avoid an accident.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Turn off equipment.

4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management.

4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher.

4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning.

4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.).

Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base.

4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Turn off equipment. Wait for it to come to a complete stop. Tidy up the workplace: remove tools, fixtures; clean the machine from dirt and dust; wipe and lubricate the rubbing parts of the machine; neatly fold the finished parts and the remaining material.

5.2. Cleaning of wood waste (sawdust, shavings, dust) from the surface of the equipment, as well as from overalls, is carried out with a brush, sweep or using vacuum cleaners.

It is unacceptable to blow the machine and clothes with compressed air.

5.3. Rags used during work and when cleaning, put the rags in a special metal box with a closing lid and take it outside the workshop to a specially designated place.

5.4. Wash hands with warm water and soap.

5.5. Report all noticed shortcomings in the operation of the equipment to the shift worker or foreman.
