Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. Persons who have passed a medical examination and have no contraindications to work in this profession (specialty), introductory briefing and briefing at the workplace are allowed to work. Workers are allowed to work independently after an internship, verification of theoretical knowledge and acquired skills in safe ways of working. In the future, at the workplace, briefings on labor protection are held at least once every 3 months.

1.2. When transferring to a new job, from temporary to permanent, from one operation to another with a change in the technological process or equipment, employees must be instructed in labor protection at the workplace.

1.3. Conducting all types of briefings must be recorded in the Briefing Log with the obligatory signatures of the person who received and conducted the briefing.

1.4. Each employee is obliged to comply with the requirements of this instruction, labor and production discipline, work and rest regime, all requirements for labor protection, safe work performance, industrial sanitation, fire safety, electrical safety.

1.5. Smoking is allowed only in specially designated areas. The use of alcoholic beverages at work, as well as going to work in a state of alcoholic or drug intoxication, is prohibited.

1.6. When performing work, it is necessary to be attentive, not to be distracted by extraneous affairs and conversations, and not to distract others from work. It is forbidden to sit down and lean on random objects and fences.

1.7. It is not allowed to approach operating machines, installations, machines on which other workers work, and distract them with extraneous conversations, turn on or off (except in emergency cases) equipment, transport and lifting mechanisms, work on which is not assigned, go beyond the fences of hazardous areas, in the zones of technological passages.

1.8. The employer is obliged to provide workers with overalls, safety shoes, as well as personal protective equipment in accordance with the work they perform and in accordance with applicable standards. It is forbidden to work without overalls, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment laid down in accordance with the standards.

1.9. Each employee needs:

  • know the place of storage of the workshop first-aid kit;
  • be able to provide first aid for work-related injuries.

1.10. It is allowed to store and eat food only in established and equipped places.

1.11. It is forbidden to be in production premises in outerwear, undress or hang clothes, hats, bags on equipment.

1.12. Do not clutter up passages, driveways, workplaces, approaches to shields with fire fighting equipment, fire hydrants and a general switch.

1.13. Spilled cleaners, lubricants, water, etc. on the floor. wipe off immediately.

1.14. Cleaning materials impregnated with oil, paint, solvent, put in tightly closed metal boxes. Do not scatter these materials, at the end of the shift they should be removed from the premises.

1.15. Store fuels, lubricants and flammable liquids only in a tightly closed metal container (box) or cabinet in an amount not exceeding the replacement rate. Joint storage of acids and flammable and combustible liquids (gasoline, toluene, alcohol, kerosene, white spirit, etc.) is prohibited. Store chemicals in quantities not exceeding the established norms, in a tightly closed container with an inscription on the contents.

1.16. It is forbidden to repair equipment, fix electrical equipment and the electrical network to personnel who do not have access to these works, work near unshielded current-carrying parts, touch electrical wires, general lighting fittings, open doors of electrical cabinets, fencing of knife switches, switchboards and control panels.

1.17. Do not use lubricants for washing hands.

1.18. It is forbidden to be in the production room after the end of work.

1.19. The employee is responsible in accordance with applicable law for compliance with the requirements of instructions, industrial injuries and accidents that occurred through his fault.

1.20. The control of the implementation of this instruction is assigned to the head of the department.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Put on your uniform, put it in order.

2.2. Inspect equipment and work area. Check the serviceability of the equipment - the presence and strength of fastening of fences, safety devices, interlocks, switching devices, braking devices, grounding.

2.3. Report all identified problems to the work manager and do not start work until they are eliminated.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Before starting the machine for a working stroke, make sure that tools, oilers, rags are not forgotten on the machine and guards and that no one is working in the danger zone.

3.2. When installing and removing molds, washing molds and rubber, during all auxiliary work, turn the machine manually.

3.3. When installing the offset rubber sheet, stretch it evenly, tightening the fixing bolts until their heads are completely sunk into the recess of the offset cylinder.

3.4. Install and fix the ink box carefully so that its side walls accurately and tightly fit into the grooves of the ink roller. Pay special attention to fixing the position of the ink box with screws to avoid vibration during machine operation.

3.5. Prepare the humidifier when the machine is completely stopped. Install all the rollers in a certain sequence, check the correctness of their installation and fastening, and only after that turn on the machine.

3.6. When installing the printing plate, make sure that there are no burrs, torn or sharp edges, etc., so as not to hurt your hands. Rotate the cylinders manually with the motor off.

3.7. When loading paper on the feeder table, lower the table while raising the counterweight. The position of the right and left paper stack guides should be checked to ensure that they are not skewed: they must fit exactly into the cutouts of the table. Incorrect installation of them leads to breakage of the guides, the table lifting mechanism and to an accident.

3.8. The inking, forming and forming rollers must be securely fastened. Install or remove rollers smoothly, in coordination with the effort of another printer and with the motor turned off.

3.9. Rollers removed from the machine should be stored in special pyramids. Rollers must not be placed vertically or leaned against the machine.

3.10. Adjust the water and ink supply to the dampening and ink rollers using the adjusting devices on the machine.

3.11. Adjust the paper feed, guide, and eject systems when the machine is at a complete stop.

3.12. Adjust the pressure between the cylinders, move the cylinders along the axes to place the image on the offset rubber sheet in the right place when the machine is completely stopped.

3.13. Install the device for washing the rollers of the inking unit when the machine is completely stopped.

3.14. Clean or wash off paint rollers with a special brush with a wooden handle and rubber gloves.

3.15. Sheathe the rollers on special stable stands.

3.16. Be attentive and careful:

  • when lowering the raised carriage of the inking system;
  • when attaching the mold to avoid getting fingers between the cylinders.

3.17. Store products carefully on racks, the height of storage should not exceed 1,6 m from the floor level (including the height of the rack).

3.18. Constantly monitor the cleanliness and order around the machine.

3.19. It is forbidden while the machine is running:

  • remove and insert colorful and moisturizing rollers;
  • correct a skewed sheet, pick up sheets that have fallen into the car and under the car;
  • clean, lubricate, tune and troubleshoot;
  • remove paint and dirt from the rollers, as well as add paint to both the inking rollers and the inking unit;
  • remove paper and rags from the rollers;
  • wash off the image from the rubber sheet, moisten and wipe the printing plate, cover it with dextrin, etc.;
  • add humidifying liquid to the humidifying rollers and to the humidifying apparatus;
  • make any corrections to the printed form;
  • get distracted, lean on railings, leave your workplace, do other things, etc.

3.20. Racks (pallets) are to be carried, stacked and disassembled from a stack by only two employees. Use of faulty racks (pallets) is prohibited.

3.21. It is forbidden to lean racks (pallets) against the machine frame or wall, and also to put them on the end.

3.22. It is forbidden to use defective hand tools, as well as tools of inappropriate sizes, to scatter them around the equipment, in aisles, in driveways. Store fixtures and tools in designated areas.

3.23. It is forbidden to allow persons who are not related to work to the workplace, as well as to entrust the equipment to unauthorized persons.

3.24. It is forbidden to work on equipment with guards removed and faulty interlocks.

3.25. It is forbidden to leave combustible liquids and flammable liquids in the aisles, driveways and working areas of the equipment.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In case of fire, immediately turn off the machine, turn off the power supply, with the exception of the lighting network, call the fire brigade, inform the work manager and proceed to eliminate the fire using the available fire extinguishers.

4.2. If voltage (sensation of current) is detected on the metal parts of the machine, the electric motor is buzzing, in case of vibration or increased noise level, with a sharp heating of the electric wires, the electric motor, a decrease in the number of revolutions of the electric motor shaft, sparking in electrical equipment, a break in the ground wire, stop the machine, report to the foreman about a malfunction and do not start work without his instructions.

4.3. Stop the machine and disconnect it from the electricity when:

  • interruption of power supply;
  • traumatic situation (getting hands, feet and clothes into the moving elements of the machine);
  • ingress of foreign objects into the equipment;
  • poor fixing of the printing form, ink and dampening apparatus;
  • malfunctions of equipment, safety, protective blocking, starting, including, etc. devices.

4.4. In case of injury, first of all, release the victim from the traumatic factor, call for medical assistance, provide first aid to the victim, notify the work manager and save the traumatic situation until the causes of the incident are investigated.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Turn off the machine, put the tools and devices in the designated places, put the workplace in order. Make an entry in the Log about the status of the equipment.

5.2. Take off your clothes and put them in the closet.

5.3. Wash hands and face thoroughly with warm water and soap.
