This Instruction regulates the basic requirements for labor safety when performing wallpaper work. 1.2. The upholsterer must comply with the requirements of the instruction developed on the basis of this one, as well as instructions developed taking into account the requirements set forth in the standard instructions:
Noticing a violation of safety requirements by another worker, the upholsterer must warn him of the need to comply with them. The upholsterer must also follow the instructions of the representative of the joint committee (commission) for labor protection or the authorized (trusted) person for labor protection of the trade union committee. The upholsterer must know and be able to provide first aid to the victim in accordance with "Instructions for providing first aid in case of accidents". The upholsterer should not start performing one-time work that is not related to his direct duties in the specialty, without receiving targeted instruction. 2. General requirements 2.1. Individuals who have the appropriate qualifications, who have received introductory briefing and primary briefing at the workplace on labor protection and are trained in safe working methods, are allowed to work independently. 2.2. An upholsterer who has not undergone a timely re-instruction on labor protection (at least 1 time in 3 months) should not start work. 2.3. The upholsterer is obliged to comply with the internal labor regulations established at the enterprise. 2.4. The working time of an upholsterer should not exceed 40 hours per week. The duration of daily work (shift) is determined by the internal labor regulations or shift schedule, approved by the employer in agreement with the trade union committee. 2.5. The upholsterer should be aware that the most dangerous and harmful factors that may affect him in the process of work are: equipment, tools and fixtures; material. 2.5.1. In the process of working with equipment, tools (cleaning and lubricating the sewing machine, threading the needle, cutting material, etc.), injuries are possible if incorrect work methods are used. 2.5.2. Synthetic materials used for seat and cab upholstery emit toxic fumes. Improper storage and handling of them can cause poisoning. 2.6. The upholsterer is prohibited from using tools and equipment that he has not been trained and instructed in handling. 2.7. The upholsterer must work in special clothing and, if necessary, use other personal protective equipment. 2.8. In accordance with the standard industry standards for the free issue of special clothing and other personal protective equipment to workers and employees, the upholsterer is issued a cotton semi-overalls. 2.9. The upholsterer must comply with fire safety rules, be able to use fire extinguishing equipment. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas. 2.10. The upholsterer must be attentive during work, not be distracted by extraneous matters. 2.11. Report violations of safety requirements at your workplace, as well as malfunctions of equipment, devices, tools and personal protective equipment, to inform your immediate supervisor and do not start work until these violations and malfunctions are eliminated. 2.12. The upholsterer must observe the rules of personal hygiene. Wash your hands before eating or smoking. 2.13. For drinking, use only water from a device specially designed for this purpose (saturators, drinking tanks, fountains, etc.). 2.14. For non-compliance with the requirements of the instructions developed on the basis of this and specified in clause 1.2, the upholsterer is liable in accordance with the rules of the current legislation. 3. Safety requirements before starting work 3.1. Before starting work, the upholsterer must: 3.1.1. Wear special clothing. 3.1.2. Inspect and prepare your workplace for work, remove all unnecessary items. Check floor condition. If it is slippery or wet, demand to be wiped down or do it yourself. 3.1.3. Check the serviceability of equipment, fixtures and tools. Hand over defective tools and devices for repair. 3.1.4. Turn on supply and exhaust ventilation and local suction. 4. 5. Safety requirements in emergency situations 5.1. The upholsterer must immediately inform the employer about each accident that occurs in his presence, and provide the victim with first aid, call a doctor or help deliver the victim to a health center or the nearest medical facility. If the accident happened to the upholsterer himself, he should, if possible, go to the health center and report the incident to the employer or ask someone around to do it. 6. Safety requirements at the end of work 6.1. Upon completion of work, the upholsterer must: 6.1.1. Tidy up your workplace, remove tools and fixtures, turn off electrical equipment, turn off ventilation, put sewing needles in the place provided for them, place glue in a fume hood, place the remaining synthetic material in special cabinets or on racks equipped with local suction. 6.1.2. Remove special clothing and put it in a place intended for this purpose. Timely hand over special clothes for washing (dry cleaning) or for repair. 6.1.3.
