Erco&Gener announced the launch of the digital tachograph adapter Genl0400. The device allows you to connect the Diagnosis or INFO output of a digital tachograph, which most modern cars are equipped with, directly to the input of the GenLock31E GSM modem via the RS-232 interface.

Thus, the tachograph data is transmitted to the GSM modem, which allows using the built-in Open AT application to remotely monitor the speed and movement of the car.

Another wonderful horse, the seahorse, in addition to its incredible genealogy and physiology, also brings many benefits in the form of a medicine in Chinese medicine, helping with impotence, childbirth and enuresis.

This use has led to a significant decline in the seahorse population, and some species are considered completely extinct. However, those that still remain were enough to inspire a group of American scientists to use sea "humpbacks" in robotics. Two years ago, researchers from the University of San Diego began studying the unique "armor" of the seahorse, consisting of sliding plates and capable of withstanding great pressure. This armor, combined with the tenacity of a tail of 36 segments connected to the spinal cord, led scientists to create a new type of super-maneuverable robotic arm.

They recently published the results of their research, which focuses on recreating segments more or less square in shape, made up of four L-shaped plates that can both rotate and slide over each other. The scientists came to the conclusion that the tail owes its exceptional strength and maneuverability precisely to the square architecture, which also allows the tail to return to its normal position after twisting and deforming. Using computer models and 3D-printed skates rather than dead skates, the researchers were able to evaluate the comparative advantages of rectangular and cylindrical prototypes of future "hands".

Such a property, in their opinion, can find application in devices where strength is required, combined with efficient use of energy and the ability to bend and twist in a limited space - for example, for laparoscopic robotic surgery, in which the instrument will, on the one hand, be quite flexible, to maneuver between muscles and bones, and on the other hand, rigid enough to carry out resection.
