Safe Operation

1. Introduction

1.1. This instruction regulates the basic requirements for employees to prevent fires and burns.

1.2. All employees must know the location of fire extinguishing equipment and be able to use them.

Each employee who discovers a fire or a fire must immediately report this to the facility or city fire brigade, take measures to call the management of the enterprise and start extinguishing the fire with the available means.

1.3. When performing various types of work, it is necessary to know and remember that fire and accidents can most often occur when:

washing parts, assemblies and the engine with flammable liquids (gasoline, diesel fuel, etc.);
supply of fuel to the carburetor of a moving car from an open container by "gravity";
welding or soldering of unwashed and unsteamed containers from flammable liquids;
improper transportation and storage of flammable substances;
the use of non-standard or inappropriate rated current electrical fuses;
faulty wiring;
work in special clothing contaminated with fuels and lubricants;
work with open flame near flammable substances;
extinguishing a fire in a car without the use of fire extinguishing agents.

2. General safety requirements

2.1. When starting the engine and caring for it:

2.1.1. To avoid fire on the car, start the engine with the air filter installed.

2.1.2. To clean the engine from the outside, use only fireproof detergents.

2.1.3. It is forbidden:

use gasoline and other flammable liquids for this purpose;
allow accumulation of dirt, oil and fuel on the engine;
leave cleaning material on the engine, especially contaminated with oil and fuel;
heat the engine and other units with open fire.

2.2. Before leaving the line and while working on the line:

2.2.1. Check the presence and serviceability of electrical fuses and electrical wiring. All fuses must be standard and correspond to the rated current. Wiring should not have bare spots, and the places of its connection should exclude the possibility of sparking.

2.2.2. Check the tightness of the power supply system (for fuel leaks or gas leaks). If leaks are found, take corrective action.

2.2.3. Check that the car is equipped with serviceable fire extinguishers.

You need to know the device of a fire extinguisher and be able to use it.

2.2.4. Repair of the engine power system on the line should be carried out with care, avoiding the ingress of gasoline on the engine and exhaust system.

If a gas leak is detected on the line from the power supply system of gas-cylinder (gas-diesel) vehicles, with the exception of the cylinder fittings, immediately stop, close the supply valves, exhaust gas from the system until the engine stops, then close the main valve and take measures to eliminate the malfunction, if possible, or notify the company.

In case of gas leakage from the cylinder fittings, it is necessary to drive the car to a safe place and release or drain the gas from the cylinder.

2.2.5. Transportation of flammable substances must be carried out in a specially equipped vehicle in accordance with the regulations in force.

2.2.6. It is forbidden:

supply fuel to the carburetor from an open container "by gravity";
check the presence of fuel in the tank or cistern using an open flame (lighted match, lighter, etc.);
store and transport gasoline, kerosene and other flammable substances in the cabin, car interior and bodywork not adapted for this purpose;
release compressed natural gas and drain liquefied petroleum gas while the engine is running or the ignition is on, as well as in the immediate vicinity of parking lots of other vehicles or near fire sources and places where people are located.

2.2.7. In the event of a car fire while working on the line, you must:

stop the vehicle immediately;
turn off the engine (on vehicles running on gas, close the main and cylinder valves);
take all measures to evacuate passengers (cargo) and start extinguishing the fire.

When extinguishing a fire in a car, personal care must be taken - use fire extinguishers, gloves, prevent clothing from catching fire and burning the face, hands, etc.

2.3. For vehicle maintenance and repairs:

2.3.1. Avoid leakage of fuel or oil from vehicle components.

Spilled fuel or oil must be cleaned up immediately with sand or sawdust.

2.3.2. Washing of the removed units and parts of the car should be carried out in a strictly designated place.

2.3.3. Waste oils and fuel sediment from fuel tanks must be drained only into a special container.

2.3.4. Storage, draining and refueling of fuels and lubricants should be carried out only in places specially designed for this purpose.

2.3.5. Before repairing (welding, soldering) the container from flammable substances, it is necessary to empty, disconnect and remove all pipelines that may contain flammable liquid. The emptied container, as well as pipelines, must be thoroughly washed with hot water, blown with steam until traces of these liquids are completely removed.

2.3.6. Smoking on the territory of the enterprise is allowed only in places specially designated for this purpose.

2.3.7. Special clothing contaminated with fuels and lubricants should be dry-cleaned (laundry) in a timely manner.

2.3.8. Forbidden;

check batteries by short circuit. For this purpose, a load fork should be used;
drain used oils and fuel sediment from fuel tanks into drains and sewers;
work in special clothes doused with fuel;
approach an open fire, smoke and light matches if hands and special clothing are doused with fuel;
use gasoline for washing clothes, washing hands, washing walls and floors;
to use open fire in premises intended for maintenance, repair and parking, as well as in open parking lots;
store oily cleaning material, flammable substances at the workplace, except for metal boxes with lids intended for this purpose;
use homemade heating appliances.

10. First aid to victims. Actions of workers in the event of an accident on the site, in the shop.
