  • keep drainage channels closed with corrugated iron;
  • water sampling is carried out only in metal dishes or porcelain mugs from serviceable valves;
  • utensils for storing acid or alkali should have a clear inscription about the contents;
  • glass bottles with acids and alkalis should be placed in baskets lined with straw or hay;
  • personnel working with strong acids and alkalis must be instructed on their properties;
  • when diluting acid or alkali, remember that acid or alkali is poured into water, and not vice versa.

3.9. The driver's workplace is the entire room in which the equipment and communications necessary to obtain water are located, as well as the adjacent territory, if auxiliary equipment and shut-off and control valves are located on it.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In the event of a fire in the pump room, take measures to eliminate it with primary fire extinguishing means, call the fire brigade, notify the management.

4.2. In case of burns, it is necessary to free the affected area from clothing, shoes. Bandage the burnt surface with a sterile bandage and contact a medical institution. Notify the head of the boiler room.

4.3. In case of severe mechanical injuries, put the victim in a safe place, give him a comfortable and calm position and call an ambulance (notify the work manager).

4.4. In case of electric shock, first of all, release the victim from the action of electric current (disconnect the equipment from the mains, separate the victim from current-carrying parts with insulating devices (boards, dry clothes, rubber gloves, rubber mats). If the victim has lost consciousness, but breathes, he must be laid in a comfortable position, unfasten the collar, give fresh air.If there is no breathing, the pulse is not palpable, the victim should immediately start artificial respiration, preferably by the mouth-to-mouth method, until the doctor arrives.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Put the workplace in order, make the necessary entries in the shift journal,

5.2. Put the tool and the remaining unused materials in their places.

5.3. Record equipment problems

5.4. Take a shower.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Biochemical Reboot of the Eye: Treating Blindness 14.04.2017

Light-sensitive pigments, which are found in everyone from bacteria to vertebrates, can be reset by biomechanical manipulations and thereby restore people's vision.

Scientists at the Western Reserve School of Medicine, USA have used a modified form of vitamin A to initiate a reset mechanism and restart the proteins needed for human vision. The target protein was photosensitive rhodopsin, which belongs to a family of proteins found in cell membranes that transmit an external signal to the internal cellular system. The discovery provides new opportunities for creating modified retinas that will improve vision.

The discovery delves into the biochemistry of vision, to why the chemical configuration of the retina is important for human light perception. Humans see with the help of a highly sensitive protein, rhodopsin, which attaches to retinal molecules to sense light. Photons of light enter the eye and are absorbed by the retinal-rhodopsin complex, activating the downstream signaling cascade that makes up vision.

It is especially important that the retina waits for light in one chemical configuration, and after absorption it changes into another one called all-trans retinal. But this transformation is unidirectional, and many specialized proteins are needed to return the retina to its first configuration. Inherited mutations in any of these can cause degenerative retinal diseases. Researchers who want to cure such diseases must either correct or bypass the altered proteins.

Researchers have discovered a self-renewing mechanism in bovine rhodopsin that is extremely similar to human. They used the purified proteins in the lab to show how their modified retina binds to bovine rhodopsin, successfully activates human proteins when exposed to light, and after signaling with thermal energy alone, slowly reverts to an inactive form that can be reactivated by photons. The discovery suggests that retinal molecules with a specific chemical structure can stimulate rhodopsin, which is needed for human vision, which means that mutated proteins can be bypassed and restore people's vision.
