The electron as a particle was discovered in 1897 by the English physicist Joseph John Thomson. After 9 years, he was given the Nobel Prize with the wording "for research on the conduction of electricity by gases." His son, George Paget Thomson, discovered the wave properties of the electron in 1927 and was subsequently awarded the Nobel Prize "for his experimental discovery of the diffraction of electrons by crystals."

Is there life in the Dead Sea?

The Dead Sea is one of the strangest bodies of water on earth. Millions of years ago, the water level in it was about 420 m higher than the current one and thus exceeded the level of the Mediterranean Sea. At that time there was life in it. However, a period of great drought followed, during which so much water evaporated from the Dead Sea that it gradually shrunk to its present size.

Mean Well has developed a new series of 5W DC-DC converters with output voltage stabilization - SPB05. The uniqueness of the series is the "packaging" of 5 watts of power in the SIP-8 package. As a rule, DC-DC converters with the specified power are already manufactured in a DIP-24 package. A feature of the SIP-8 package compared to the DIP-24 is a significantly smaller footprint on the board (about 1/3).
