Focus Description:

The magician names the card conceived by the viewer.

Focus secret:

The first method

Lay out the cards in three piles face down and ask the spectator to remember the card and say which pile it is in. After you have dealt twenty-one cards, put the rest of the cards aside, because they are not needed for the trick.

We ask the viewer in which stack the card is located, and put this stack between the other two. Again, lay out the cards in three piles. We ask the same question again and again put the pile in the middle. We deal cards for the third time. During the deal, we remember the fourth card in each pile, because one of them is the one we are looking for. Now we ask the viewer in which pile the card is, and calmly call it.

This trick can be done with any number of cards, as long as it is odd and divisible by three. If there are 15 cards, then there are five cards in each pile and the desired one will be the middle one, i.e. the third card. When there are 27 cards, then there will be 9 cards in each pile and the middle one, that is, the fifth one, will be the desired one.

second method

We hold the deck in the left hand with the shirt up. Remember the bottom card. We imperceptibly push it forward a little and hold this protruding part of the card with the thumb and little finger of the right hand. In this case, the right hand covers the cards from above.

Focus Guessing the intended card (three ways)

With the tip of the index or middle finger of the right hand, we move the cards back one after another, starting from the top. The public is invited to stop you when they choose a card.

After this card selection, slide everything back and remove them from the rest of the cards, but you also remove the bottom card along with them. This card, connected to the removed deck, will be in the eyes of the audience the card on which they stopped you.

Now we hold the cards face down, and ask the viewer to remember this card. You can shuffle the deck as much as you like, but knowing the card, it will not be difficult for you to find it in the deck.

The described method can also be used to give the viewer the illusion of choosing a card, when in fact you are putting the card to him. To do this, you put the card you need at the bottom of the deck. Then follow the steps above. When the audience tells you to stop, then you remove the top of the deck along with the bottommost card. Now this card becomes the bottom of the part of the deck that you are holding in your hands. You ask the spectators to remember this card and let the spectators draw the deck.

A third method

We take a certain number of cards and deal them face down on the table, remembering the first of them. We ask the audience to remember the card and which one it fell on the account.

We pick up the dealt cards, without violating their order, turn them face down. To emphasize that the trick does not depend on the number of cards, you invite the audience to take any number of cards from the rest and place them on top and bottom of the deck in your hand.

Spectators can remove cards as much as they want, don't let them just shuffle them.

For the first time, we ask each person who memorized the card what his card was. After that, you again deal the cards face down. When the first card that you remember appears for the first time, then start counting up to the number told to you, on which the card noticed by the spectator is located. If you deal cards before you reach the desired number, then turn the deck over again and continue counting from the beginning of the deck until you reach that number.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

New 14A voltage conversion modules in EXCALIBUR package 19.07.2003

Texas Instruments new series of voltage converters in EXCALIBUR 12-pin package is only 8 mm high.

The input voltage is 5 V, the output current is up to 14 A and is designed to organize a power supply for powerful micro- and signal processors right at their installation site. Half the size of the previous series of 6460-Amp power converters, the PT14 Power Modules operate from a 5V system power supply and provide a reduced regulated voltage down to 1V.

Other product features include 94% efficiency, pre-bias voltage for reliable starting, adjustable output voltage, line length compensation, on/off delay, overcurrent protection and convenient surface mount package design.

The PT6460 modules are available in a low-profile 12-pin EXCALIBUR copper package, do not need an additional heatsink and are easy to solder. Measuring 43x17x8mm, Excalibur cases fit within an 8mm height restriction when mounted horizontally and are available in standard and surface mount options.
