Focus Description:

First, you show the viewer three wooden cubes of different colors: yellow, blue, red. Each cube has a small through hole. Now take a box without a lid, which also has two holes - one on each side. Then put the cubes inside the box. Spectators see that the holes of the box and the cubes match. Pull a string about one meter long through the box and cubes. For credibility, pull it several times at different ends. Then ask someone from the audience to hold them, and you yourself ... take the cubes out of the box.

Focus Colored Cubes

Focus secret:

The props of the focus are three wooden cubes with sides of 120 mm and holes drilled in them with a diameter of about 10 mm.

The box must be made of such a size that the cubes freely enter it. And now the secret of the trick.

Inside the box on the sides and bottom, make grooves and put a strong thread into them in advance. Lead its ends into the side holes of the box, and make a loop on one of them.

The cubes must be placed in the box. Wrap one end of the lace with a loop of thread. And then push it into the hole of the box - it turns out that it passes in the grooves first on the side, then on the bottom and comes out of the hole on the opposite side. The viewer is absolutely sure that the string is pulled through the holes in the cubes.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The danger of permafrost 07.03.2018

The process of thawing permafrost releases carbon from the soil into the atmosphere, which can adversely affect climate change on the planet, a team of scientists from the Netherlands and the UK found out.

Scientists analyzed the content of the substance in the waters of the northwestern part of Canada in the summer, when the permafrost thaws. They found in lakes and rivers an increased content of "ancient" carbon, as well as carbon dioxide. Gases can be contained in the remains of plants that are in frozen soil.

Analyzing the carbon content of Canadian Arctic waters has been complicated by the fact that scientists do not yet know how much gas should be emitted into the atmosphere without adjusting for climate change. At the same time, it is important to pay attention to the fact that the water column can contain both "ancient" and carbon that has recently entered the permafrost.

Despite the fact that such studies require further work and analysis, scientists emphasize that the data obtained are quite alarming and indicate the negative impact of such processes on the rate of global warming.
