Calculation of the phase inverter of the acoustic system

Section Acoustic systems. A phase inverter with a head installed in it can be represented with some simplifications as an acoustic high-pass filter (HPF). Its calculation is rather complicated, since it requires taking into account a large number of parameters that ensure the best uniformity of the frequency response of the loudspeaker. For the calculation, it is necessary to measure the displacement (sag) of the voice coil of the head D (in millimeters) under the action of a load of non-magnetic material weighing M = 0,2 ... 0,4 kg, placed on the diffuser at the place of its connection with the coil. This is done using a strip of H1 scale-coordinate paper (graph paper), noting the removal of any mark on the diffuser from the ruler placed on the diffuser holder. The displacement of the diffuser should be measured with great care, since it usually does not exceed 1 ... ... >>

Thyristor rectifier with adjustable output voltage 0-250 volts 0,15 amps

Section Voltage converters, rectifiers, inverters. The thyristor rectifier, the circuit of which is shown in the figure, allows you to get an adjustable constant voltage at the output in the range of 0-250 V at a current through the load of 0,15 A. The efficiency of the rectifier depends on the load and can reach 98%. The rectifier is made according to a full-wave circuit, and a thyristor is connected in series with the diode in each arm. The opening of the thyristors occurs alternately with a positive half-wave of voltage on them at the moment the control signals are applied to the control electrodes. The regulation of the rectified voltage is carried out by changing the phase of the control signals relative to the beginning of the half-cycle. Thyristors close at the end of the positive half-wave of the voltage applied to them ... >>

Economic voltage stabilizer, 15/5-12 volts 100 milliamps

Section Voltage stabilizers. The features of the stabilizer, the circuit of which is shown in the following figure, are the ability to operate at a reduced input voltage (15 V) and a relatively low own current consumption. This allows us to recommend it for self-powered equipment. The output voltage of the stabilizer can be adjusted by a variable resistor R4 in the range from 5 to 12 V. Thanks to the use of a field-effect transistor V1 and a high-resistance load in the regulating element, it was possible to obtain fairly good characteristics: a stabilization coefficient of more than 200, an output resistance of 0,3 ... 1,5 Ohm at maximum load current up to 100 mA ... >>

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Strawberries improve memory 07.11.2023

Regular consumption of strawberries has been shown to have positive effects on memory and mood among middle-aged people with mild cognitive impairment. The anti-inflammatory properties of anthocyanins in strawberries may reduce the risk of dementia in this age group.

One theory suggests that cognitive aging and the development of neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease are associated with inflammatory processes in the body, including the brain. Metabolic disorders and obesity enhance these processes, which may lead to an increased risk of dementia in people who are overweight and insulin resistant. Therefore, it is believed that reducing inflammation may reduce the likelihood of developing dementia and even help treat it.

Anti-inflammatory substances such as anthocyanins are often found in natural foods, including berries and strawberries, which University of Cincinnati scientists have found have the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier into the brain. From this point of view, the researchers decided to test whether regularly eating strawberries could affect cognitive function.

In the study, 30 participants aged 50 to 65 years, mostly overweight or obese women with mild memory impairment, took strawberry capsules equivalent to 130 grams of fresh berries or a placebo for 12 weeks. The results showed no improvements in metabolic measures associated with being overweight, nor in executive function, verbal memory, or spatial skills. However, the strawberry group showed a reduction in memory interference, a phenomenon where old memories interfere with the ability to recall new ones, especially in older age and dementia.

Additionally, participants in the strawberry group reported improved mood compared to those taking the placebo. These results suggest that strawberry supplementation may reduce the risk of dementia among middle-aged people.
