Scientists from Singapore have created a smart fabric that works like a microphone, converting sound first into mechanical vibrations and then into electrical signals, similar to how human ears do. The fiber is made of a piezoelectric material that generates an electrical signal when it is bent or mechanically deformed, allowing the tissue to convert sound vibrations into electrical signals. The fabric can pick up sounds in the decibel range and determine the exact direction they came from.

A small American firm "102 Technology" has developed a method for projecting images into clean air.

The projector can work as a TV or computer monitor. Screenless projectors are known to throw an image onto a curtain of laminar fog or steam, but here a high-quality color image appears simply in the air above the projector.
