Focus Description:

The audience sees how the performer, accompanied by two assistants walking along the sides, comes to the fore. The left assistant gives the illusionist a small (about 100x100 cm) beautifully embroidered or painted thick scarf, and the right one holds a nickel-plated vase lid.

The performer, waving the handkerchief, shows the audience both sides of it and throws the handkerchief over his left shoulder, covering his extended left elbow with it (Fig. 127).

The left assistant slightly holds the handkerchief so that it does not slip off, while the performer puts his right hand under the handkerchief, takes out a vase with live goldfish (Fig. 128) and passes it to the approaching assistant.

Then he takes off the handkerchief from his shoulder and, showing it on both sides, throws it over his right shoulder, over his extended right elbow. With his left hand, he takes out a nickel-plated vase from under the handkerchief, in which a fire burns (Fig. 129).

Throwing back the handkerchief on his left hand, he holds a vase in the same outstretched hand. The right assistant, approaching the performer, hands him the lid. He covers the vase with it (Fig. 130) and immediately removes it again.

There is no fire, but the vase is full of colorful flowers (Fig. 131). After that, the vase and lid are handed over to the assistant, who, having taken them, takes her place.

The performer again takes the scarf and, showing it on both sides, again throws it over his left shoulder (see Fig. 127). Putting his right hand under the handkerchief, he takes out from under it a huge bouquet of beautiful flowers made of feathers; throwing back the handkerchief on his left elbow, he holds the bouquet with both hands (Fig. 132) and passes it to the assistant standing on the left. General respect to the audience. All assistants go backstage, the magician remains on stage.

These three spectacular tricks, put together and performed at a fast pace one after the other, make a great impression on the audience.

WATER

Props:

Glass vase with a diameter of 18-20 cm and a height of 4-5 cm (Fig. 170, A, B). It can be easily made from a vase for jam by sawing off the leg, cleaning and polishing the cut. The edges of the vase and the outer walls should be even.

Fig. 170

Rubber cover for a vase. For this purpose, a rubbery new ice bubble sold in pharmacies is suitable (Fig. 170, D).

The part cut out of the bubble is shown in Fig. 170 dotted. We got the tire we needed (Fig. 170, B).

Several artificial goldfish made from celluloid. They can be purchased at children's toy stores. If you attach a small weight to the fish, put them in a vase of water and at the same time shake the vessel slightly, then from a distance they will give the impression of real ones.

Coverlet 100x100 cm, silk, beautifully painted, lined with flannel. So that it does not slip off the shoulder, a lead plate the size of two copper five-kopeck coins is sewn into one of its corners. If the corner with the weight sewn into it is thrown over the shoulder, then this will not allow the scarf to slide.

Focus secret:

The fish is lowered into a vase filled with water, the rubber cover is stretched and put on the vase. It is necessary that someone support the vase at this time. Putting on the tire and straightening the edges, press the middle of the cover with your hand and let the air out of it (see Fig. 170, A). On fig. 170, B shows a vase in section. In this form, it can be turned upside down in any way: water will not pour out of it.

The vase prepared in this way is hidden under a vest specially made for this purpose, worn under a jacket. Put it under the port side; it does not fall out, as the vest is tightly tightened along the lower edge. The neckline should be very low, like a tailcoat, so that under the cover of the jacket's hem, you can easily and imperceptibly get the vase with your right hand.

When showing the trick, as was said, the performer throws a scarf over his left shoulder. Under the cover of a handkerchief, with his right hand, he quickly and carefully takes out a vase from under his waistcoat and passes it to his left hand, and with his right hand he immediately removes the rubber cover from the vase. Taking it off, he squeezes it into a ball and hides it under his vest. All this time, the assistant for insurance supports the scarf so that it does not slip off the shoulder. The magician removes the veil from his shoulder - and the audience sees a vase with fish swimming in it. Then the vase is handed over to the assistant.

This number is so simple that it needs no further explanation. It is necessary to learn very quickly and imperceptibly, under the cover of a scarf, to remove the rubber tire and hide it.

FIRE

Props:

A nickel-plated copper or brass vase with a lid that has a secret device.

Folding paper flowers (25-30 pieces).

Lighter.

Look at fig. 171. Here is an A-vase, extruded on a lathe, its diameter in the middle is 18-20 cm, height 4-5 cm; B - a nickel-plated circle with a rim, which can be tightly put on the rim of vase A; in the middle of the circle a wire ring is soldered for attaching flowers; B - nickel-plated figured cover with a handle at the top and with a secret device. Lid B fits snugly on circle B with its lower edge and is firmly held in it.

Focus Water, fire, flowers
Fig. 171

Take a look at fig. 172, L, and you will notice that inside there is a second similar cover G, extruded exactly in the shape of the lid C, but without the lower rim. It is very similar to the first one. To the cover G, the rod D is soldered, ending at the top with a thread. A spring E is put on it, and a massive cap G is screwed on top, which has an internal thread for this.

Focus Water, fire, flowers
Fig. 172

The lid assembled in this way from five parts can, as we said, be put on circle B. The lids D and C fit snugly together. If we take the handle and press on the cap G, then it will press the spring E and move the cap D away from the cap C with a rod.

Now that the technique of the lids is clear to you, let's do the following. Holding lid B by handle 3, put circle B inside lid C and cover vase A with it. The circle will fit very tightly on the vase. If you immediately press on the cap G, then the lid D will squeeze out the circle, and it will remain put on the vase A, and the lid D, under the influence of the spring, will press close to the lid C.

Adjust the lid so that circle B fits snugly inside the rim of vase A and stays firmly there without falling off. When the lid D is pressed on it, the circle should easily fall onto the vase. This is our "secret" device.

Folding paper flowers, if carefully made, are elegant and portable. 25-30 of these flowers when folded take up very little space, only 2 cm in height. When you dissolve them, they form a beautiful bouquet with a diameter of 20-25 cm, depending on the length of the cord that is tied to the ring of circle B (see fig. 171).

Flowers are made from very thin multi-colored tissue paper. The thinner it is, the better. The so-called "silk" is especially good, but you can get by with the "flower" one. The following colors are needed: for leaves - green, for flowers - white, yellow, red, blue and orange. To cut out flowers, fold the paper into squares, the sides of which are 10,5 cm. Then outline and cut out according to figure A (Fig. 173).

Focus Water, fire, flowers
Fig. 173

Bend the cut out figure along short dotted lines so that corner 2 lies on corner 1, and corner 3 on corner 4. Straighten and bend again so that corner 3 lies on corner 2, and corner 4 on corner 1. Once again, straighten and bend in the opposite direction along the dotted line 2-4, so that corner 3 lies on corner 1. Now you have half of the flower ready. Make another half of the same and glue both parts together (the sides are adjacent to corner 1 or corner 3). It remains to attach spring D or E to the flower and attach sheet B, cut to the size of the flower from green paper.

Spring D can be taken from an old wrist or pocket watch. To give it the desired shape, you need to "release" on the fire, bend in the direction you need, and then heat it up. Making springs is not easy and requires skill in "vacation" and "hardening". The clock spring can be replaced by the thinnest steel string, which must be twisted as shown in fig. 173 True, she quickly wears out the flowers.

The made spring is placed on a cut green leaf with a loop down and glued along a narrow strip of green paper. Then a flower is glued to the leaf, and everything is thoroughly dried. After the glue has completely dried, a thin cord or thick thread 20 cm long is tied to the loop of the spring.

Having made 25-30 such flowers, they are folded into a pack, which is tightly wrapped with a narrow paper strip and sealed so that the flowers do not fall apart. Having connected the laces together, they are tied with a loop and fastened with a safety pin to a wire circle soldered on the circle. Putting a pack of flowers on a circle, cover them with a lid and carefully remove the glued strip. Holding the pack with your hand, close the lid tightly. The circle will fit snugly into the lid with the sides. Now you are all set for the session.

If we put a lid with flowers inside on a vase, the circle will sit tightly on its edges. It is worth pressing the cap G (see Fig. 172), as the lid will “give up” a circle with flowers, and under the action of the springs they will spread magnificently over the vase.

Focus secret:

The secret lies, firstly, in the lid we have described and, secondly, in the folding paper flowers.

Here's how the demo goes. Behind the scenes, 2-3 g of pure gasoline and about 25 g of water are poured into a vase. Prepare the same lighter. Having checked whether the lid is carefully and correctly loaded with flowers, the performer, before entering the stage, puts the vase upright under his waistcoat (towards the right side), making sure not to douse himself with gasoline.

The vase is taken out as described, throwing the scarf with the heavy end over the right shoulder. They do this with their left hand, and with the right hand they set fire to gasoline with a lighter. As soon as it flares up, the illusionist immediately removes the vase from under the handkerchief and, having shown it to the audience (see Fig. 129), takes the lid from the assistant, covers the vase with it (see Fig. 130) and, pressing on the cap, removes the roof ku. The whole vase is filled with flowers (see Fig. 131).

Let's give some practical advice. Flowers are best stored loose, covering them from dust. Before folding them, you need to untie the laces and carefully, one by one, put one flower on another.

Ignition can also be done chemically. To do this, put any of the metalloids - rubidium, potassium, sodium - inside the vase. They ignite from water when the vase is tilted. But we do not recommend this method, as it is very dangerous. When showing a vase with rubidium, I had two accidents due to pre-ignition, while my hands were badly burned. Quieter, safer, easier and much better to use a simple lighter that can be attached inside a vase. Then it will be possible to take it out and light it with one left hand, which is very effective.

Another tip: for safety, never store more than 25g of gasoline. This will be enough for you.

The assistant giving the lid should hold it easily and naturally, but at the same time lightly hold the circle from below with her finger. The audience shouldn't see it.

FLOWERS

Props:

Large folding feather bouquet.

How to make it? You will need white feathers, preferably pelican or swan feathers, but you can get by with goose, duck and even chicken feathers. Select the widest white feathers with a thin stem. You will also need narrow, long feathers. "Cock's neck" will go for making greens. Dye the feathers in different colors with aniline dyes for matter, leaving some of them white.

For the stems, take a thin steel wire with a diameter of 0,5 mm. Cut 25 pieces 40-50 cm long and bend them, making a ring in the middle. Bend the wire slightly at the ends (by 2-3 mm) and wind pieces of yellow-colored cotton wool. This will be the center of the flower. Then flatten the rods at the feathers and, lowering them into the enamel, attach the feather below the cotton wool; wrap it together with the wire rod (two or three turns) with the thinnest wire insulated with green silk or paper. Applying a second pen moistened with enamel to the wire, do with it the same way as with the first one. Then do not forget to wrap the ends of all the rods with wire and cover the winding with enamel. In total, you will need 40-50 of these flowers, each 10-12 cm in diameter.

Now start winding the wire stem with green feathers. In the same way as flowers, attach feathers to the stem and, wrapping with wire, glue with enamel, gradually descending to the wire ring. Wind the very bottom with a wire several times, tie it, cut off the excess and coat with enamel for strength.

Having made all the flowers, stems and leaves, connect together 6 flowers of different colors and twist all 3 rings together to make a bouquet (Fig. 174). In total, you will need 7-8 bouquets. Take a curtain cord and press all the bouquets on it, tying them one at a time with knots at a distance of 5 cm from each other. Then tie the ends of the lace in a knot and cut off the excess. Your folding feather bouquet will be ready.

Focus secret:

The secret is in the folding feather bouquet and how it hides. The bouquet easily folds into a small compact bunch. Before going on stage, charge the bouquet. For this, a tin sleeve-cassette is usually used, but we do not recommend doing this, because the cassette will interfere with your movement. Charging begins with a feather bouquet. After collecting the bouquet in a pack, place it in the trousers in front of the left leg, spread it evenly over the entire leg and left side of the abdomen so that the flowers are not visible to the audience. Then put on a vest and make sure that the bottom of the bouquet with a cord lies between the shirt and the vest, and the cord can be easily taken with your right hand. After buttoning the vest, place a vase of water under its left side, and a nickel-plated vase under its right side. Don't forget the lighter too. Now you are ready to go.

Already on the stage, after you get the vase of fish, and then the vase of fire and "turn" the fire into paper flowers, throw a handkerchief over your left shoulder. Pass your right hand under the handkerchief, grasp the lace of the bouquet and quickly pull it up, while exhaling deeply to relieve the pressure of the abdominal muscles on the bouquet. As soon as you pull the bouquet out from under the scarf, immediately pick it up with your left hand and, taking it in both hands, try to hold it as wide as possible so that it seems more magnificent. Then give the flowers to the assistant.

Carefully rehearse charging and taking out the bouquet, which should take no more than 2-3 seconds. Store flowers open in a cardboard box so that they do not wrinkle or collect dust.

For women, this trick, or rather its charging, is much easier to perform. A flat tin cassette is made into which a bouquet is placed. From such a cassette, flowers are pulled out very easily. Loops are attached to its upper and lower edges; the upper one is attached to the belt, and the lower one is attached to the left leg. It is clear that the dress should be cut in such a way that it masks the cassette and does not interfere with taking out the bouquet.

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
