Focus Description:

In this trick, the magician repeats the word "any" so often, and does not even touch the props throughout the show, so it is all the more surprising that the trick succeeds.

The magician passes a deck of cards to the audience. Invites any of the spectators to take any number of cards from the deck, and then lay out the cards on the table, while any number of cards can be face up, the rest - "shirt" up.

Before turning away, the magician needs to count the number of cards lying face up. With each word "is" one should be added to this number. If the total sum turns out to be even, then the number of cards with a pattern in the final layout will also turn out to be even. By quickly counting the number of patterned cards on the table, it is easy to determine which side of the hidden card is up.
