Focus Description:

Hand the spectator a piece of paper and tell him that you wrote a number on it, it is no less than 1 and no more than 50. And let him, without looking at this piece of paper, put it in his pocket. When the spectator hides the piece of paper, have him take another piece of paper and write on it some number from 50 to 99 so that you cannot see.

Now tell him one number that he must add to his number, cross out the first digit of the result on the left and add it to what he gets. After that, invite him to subtract his result from the number he had in mind and look at what is written on your piece of paper. It will have the same number on it.

Focus secret:

On a piece of paper, which the viewer hid in his pocket without looking, you wrote, for example, the number 23 (no less than 1 and no more than 50). When a spectator thinks of a number (from 50 to 99) that you do not know, tell him the number 76 and have him add it to his number. You didn't pick the number 76 at random - that's the trick.

You subtracted the number 23 you wrote from 99 and got 76. If you wrote on a piece of paper not 23, but, say, 40, you would tell the viewer to add not 76, but 99 to his number - 40, that is, 59. And then in His answer would be 40, no matter how many he thought.

Let's say the viewer thought of 92. Tell him to add 59 to his number. When the viewer adds the numbers, he will get 151. Cross out the first number on the left - get 51. Add the crossed out figure - get 52. Subtract this result from his thought number: 92 - 52 = 40.
