to prepare linen marker pencils 8 wt. hours of alumina is thoroughly dried and mixed with 2 wt. including very finely ground pyrolusite.

A solution of nitrogen-silver salt (3 parts by weight of nitrogen-silver salt or lapis in 5 parts by weight of distilled water) is added to the resulting mixture, after which the mass is thoroughly kneaded and ground until a homogeneous dough is obtained.

From this mass, cylinders are formed and dried in a warm place, covered with paper. The resulting pencils can be enclosed in a wooden shell. Alumina is prepared by precipitating a solution of alum with ammonia. Instead of alumina, pure clay can be used.
