Kalachiki (Malva rotundifolia) is an annual or perennial plant that grows in temperate climates around the world.

Tips for growing, harvesting and storing rolls:

Cultivation:

  • Rolls grow best in full sun and fertile soils with good drainage.
  • Seeds of rolls should be planted in nutrient soil to a depth of 1-2 cm in spring or autumn. Roller plants grow quickly and do not require much care.
  • Rolls are best planted in groups so they create beautiful patches of flowers in the garden.

Workpiece:

  • The leaves and flowers of the rolls can be used as a spice in cooking. They have a mild flavor similar to cucumbers.
  • Leaves and flowers should be picked when they are in full bloom. They must be fresh and undamaged. Leaves and flowers should be thoroughly washed and dried on a paper towel.

Storage:

  • Fresh leaves and flowers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to several days by wrapping them in damp paper or a towel.
  • To preserve the leaves and flowers of the rolls for a longer period, they can be frozen. Just lay them out in a single layer on a baking sheet and place in the freezer. Once frozen, the leaves and flowers can be packed in freezer bags and stored for up to 6 months.
  • Dried leaves and flowers can be stored in a cool and dry place for up to 1 year. To maintain their quality, they should be stored in a tightly closed container.

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Smallest 128Gb Flash Memory Chip 16.02.2013

Micron Technology has unveiled a 128Gb TLC NAND flash memory chip, which the manufacturer calls the smallest of its kind. The novelty is made according to the standards of 20 nm.

The area of the chip, each cell of which can store three bits of information, is 146 sq. mm. This is 25% smaller than the area of a 20nm MLC NAND chip of the same density, capable of storing two bits of information in each cell.

TLC NAND memory is designed for use in memory cards and flash drives. According to some estimates, this segment will account for 35% of the total output of NAND flash memory (in physical terms) this year.
Evaluation samples of TLC NAND chips with a density of 128 Gb are already coming to some customers. Mass production of memory should begin in the second quarter.
