2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Put on the required overalls and take the shift.

2.2. If there is an emergency situation or a responsible switchover by the time of delivery, the shift will be accepted and handed over at the end of these operations.

2.3. Check the operation of the pressure gauge by landing on zero with an entry in the shift log.

2.4. Check the operation of the safety valves by forced opening and make an entry in the shift log.

2.5. Register the acceptance and delivery of shifts in the journal of acceptance and delivery of shifts.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. During operation, personnel servicing the vessels must monitor:

  • do not allow vessels to be left without constant supervision and leave the site even for a short time for eating and other needs without the permission of the shift foreman or the head of the workshop;
  • for steam pressure in the vessel according to the pressure gauge, not allowing it to exceed the permitted pressure for mash and wort boilers - 2,5 kg per cm sq., for aeration receiver - 6 kg per cm sq., water heaters 10 kg per cm sq. - for water and 16 kg per cm square - for steam, on farfas for beer 2,5 kg per cm square;
  • check safety valves by forced opening;
  • check pressure gauges by setting the arrow to zero using a three-way valve;
  • to check during the shift the serviceability of vessels by external inspection, the serviceability of shutoff valves, pressure gauges and safety valves;
  • all these operations the apparatchik must record in the shift log.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. The vessel must be stopped in an emergency in the following cases:

  • if the pressure in the vessel has risen above the permitted level and does not decrease, despite the measures taken by the personnel;
  • when a malfunction is detected in the operation of one of the safety valves;
  • upon detection of leaks, bulges, rupture of gaskets in the vessel and its elements;
  • in case of failure of all water-indicating levels;
  • in case of malfunction of safety interlocks;
  • in case of a fire that directly threatens the operation of the vessel.

4.2. Causes of an emergency stop are recorded in the shift log

5. Safety measures after work

5.1. Tidy up the workplace, make the necessary entries in the shift log, inform the receiving shift about all the comments and malfunctions, issue the transfer and acceptance of the shift in the log.

5.2. Put the tool and the remaining unused materials in their places.

5.3. Record equipment problems

5.4. Take a shower.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Rolls-Royce hydrogen generators 29.01.2023

Rolls-Royce is preparing to present environmentally friendly electric generators running on pure hydrogen. According to DataCenter Dynamics, from 2024 it is planned to supply 1 MW models based on methane generators already produced under the mtu brand. Rolls-Royce is also developing fuel cells for data centers.

In the future, it is planned to use only "green" hydrogen, obtained by electrolysis from water using the energy of solar cells and wind farms.

It is known that so far we are talking about an artificial product - two generators will be delivered in January 2024 to Germany. This is a refinement of an existing model that runs on methane - mtu Series 4000 L64. The new version is designed for use with pure hydrogen. It is important that methane and hydrogen have a large difference in physical and chemical properties, so Rolls-Royce had to work hard to create a truly reliable hydrogen generator.

It is expected that the company will move from test operation to "serious" use in 2026, when new solutions will become available to a wide range of customers.

Gas systems that are already in operation cannot yet operate on pure hydrogen, so a deep processing of technologies was required. So, Rolls-Royce changed the fuel injection system, piston control system, etc.

The emphasis in the tests was on stability and reduced emissions - it has been proven that Rolls-Royce can already use many of the components produced for mtu generators, and new test versions of engines for generators meet the stringent EU requirements with a margin, and exhaust treatment is simply not needed.
