1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production".

1.2. Dangerous and harmful production factors

1.2.1. Moving machines and mechanisms, moving parts of production equipment, moving products, blanks, materials.

Sources of the factor: cutting tools (saw blades for double-sided trimming of shields, milling cutters for grooving, sheet piles or quarters, milling heads for removing overhangs, belt grinding heads); loading and unloading devices, drive sprockets and roller conveyor chains.

Action factor: the possibility of contact with moving and rotating parts of the equipment.

1.2.2. Increased dust and gas contamination of the working area.

Sources of the factor: wood dust and harmful substances that make up the adhesive (formaldehyde).

1.2.3. Increased or decreased temperature of the surfaces of equipment, materials.

Sources of the factor occurrence: line units heated to 160-230°C (electric spirals, thermoelectric heating elements), glue tanks, glues, glue roller.

Action factor: the possibility of getting burns.

1.2.4. Increased levels of static electricity.

The source of the factor: the grinding process.

Action: the possibility of ignition of grinding dust, the negative effect of static electricity on the worker.

1.3. Personal protective equipment: cotton suit; combined gloves.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Conduct an external inspection and make sure that each machine included in the line is in good condition. Test each machine separately at idle.

2.2. Check the serviceability of the lifting mechanism of the feeder and stacker, instrumentation, electrical equipment and grounding devices, starting devices by short-term switching on.

2.3. Make sure that the guards, interlocks, safety devices are in place and in good condition.

Do not start work if they are missing or defective.

2.4. Check the operation of local suction and supply and exhaust ventilation.

2.5. Make sure that the thermal insulation of the glue tanks is in good condition.

2.6. Check the correct alignment of the line on the board being processed.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Monitor the readings of control and measuring instruments and the condition of the line equipment.

3.2. Do not correct the jammed part or the facing edging material, do not check the accuracy of the processing of the panels.

3.3. Periodically check the operation of electrical equipment.

3.4. Do not fix malfunctions of mechanisms, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical equipment on your own.

3.5. In the event of a sudden stop of any unit of the line due to a malfunction, turn off the line.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Turn off equipment.

4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the immediate supervisor.

4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher.

4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning.

4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to install the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.).

Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base.

4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Turn off equipment. Wait for it to come to a complete stop. Tidy up the workplace; remove tools, fixtures; clean the machine from dirt, dust; wipe and lubricate the rubbing parts of the line; neatly fold the finished parts and the remaining material.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
