General requirements for labor protection 1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production". 1.2. Dangerous and harmful production factors 1.2.1. Increased dust and gas content in the air of the working area. The source of the factor: the release of toxic substances that make up the composition of paints and varnishes. Influence of the factor: the possibility of respiratory diseases. 1.2.2. Explosion and fire hazard. Sources of the factor: explosive concentration of vapors of paints and varnishes; sparking. Action factor: possible injury to workers in the event of an explosion, fire. 1.2.3. Dangerous chemical and harmful factors that penetrate the human body through the skin and mucous membranes. The source of the factor: paints and varnishes. Action factor: the possibility of exposure to irritating substances on the eyes, skin of the hands and other parts of the body. 1.3. Personal protective equipment: rubberized apron with a bib; technical rubber gloves. 2. Safety requirements before starting work 2.1. Conduct an external inspection of the premises and make sure that there are no foreign objects in the premises and at the workplace, as well as that paintwork materials are stored in tightly closed containers. Check the serviceability of instrumentation and safety devices, the presence and serviceability of tools, respirators, goggles, rubber gloves. 2.2. Turn on the supply and exhaust ventilation for 10 minutes. before starting work. 2.3. Check the presence of markings on all containers, as well as the availability of technical documentation for materials and compliance with their technical specifications. 2.4. Lubricate hands with protective paste, silicone or other special cream. 3. Safety requirements during work 3.1. Observe the technological instructions for the preparation of working solutions of paints and varnishes. It is forbidden to mix polyester varnishes and their components with nitrocellulose in order to avoid spontaneous combustion. When working with the initiator for polyester varnishes, avoid contact with chemicals, as well as its contamination. It is not allowed to prepare working solutions of polyester varnishes in the same room with nitro-varnishes and store initiators in a varnish preparation room. 3.2. Monitor the operation of the centralized supply of varnish and the condition of the cream tap, avoiding clogging. 3.3. Pour the solvent from drums into cans, buckets and other containers only with the help of pumps. It is necessary to drain the remains of varnish or solvent from barrels by two workers from a specially equipped site. 3.4. When transfusing and draining paints and varnishes, use goggles of a closed type. 3.5. Sprinkle varnish accidentally spilled on the floor with sand, then collect with a shovel in a bucket and take it to the designated place. Wash the floor with soap and water. 3.6. Make sure that containers and cans with paints and varnishes are tightly closed. 3.7. Do not accumulate empty barrels and cans from under paints and varnishes and solvents at the workplace, take them to specially designated places. It is not allowed to drain the solvent into the sewer. 3.8. Do not allow unauthorized persons into the varnish preparation room. 4. Safety requirement in emergency situations 4.1. Turn off equipment. 4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the immediate supervisor. 4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher. 4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning. 4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.). Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base. 4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility. 5. Safety requirements at the end of work 5.1. Carry out cleaning of the premises, while fulfilling the following requirements:
Remove tools and work utensils in metal lockers equipped with local suction. 5.2. When leaving the varnish preparation room, close it with a padlock. 5.3. Rags used during work and when cleaning, put the rags in a special metal box with a closing lid and take it outside the workshop to a specially designated place. 5.4.
