Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production".

1.2. Characteristics of dangerous and harmful production factors

1.2.1. Increased dust and gas content in the air of the working area.

Sources of the factor: painting baths, open containers for finishing materials.

Effect of the factor: possibility of poisoning by toxic substances contained in paints and varnishes.

1.2.2. Chemicals that penetrate the skin and mucous membranes.

Source of the factor: irritating substances contained in finishing materials.

Effect of the factor: harmful effects on the eyes, skin of the hands and other parts of the body.

1.2.3. Explosion and fire hazard.

Sources of the factor: explosive concentration of vapor from paints and varnishes; sparking

Action factor: the possibility of injury during an explosion, fire.

1.3. Personal protective equipment: cotton robe; cotton apron with bib; respirator; safety glasses with indirect ventilation; rubber technical gloves; low shoes are antistatic.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Check the availability and serviceability of tools, respirators, safety glasses, and rubber gloves. Store paint and varnish materials in tightly closed containers, tools and work utensils in metal locked cabinets.

2.2. Turn on the supply and exhaust ventilation 10 minutes before. before starting work. Check the serviceability of local suction systems.

2.3. Lubricate hands with protective paste or cream.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Make sure that containers and cans with paints and varnishes are tightly closed.

3.2. When finishing manually, use special devices that prevent contamination of the worker’s hands.

3.3. Cover the varnish spilled on the floor with sand, then use a non-ferrous metal scoop to collect the sand in a bucket and take it to a designated place; Wash the floor with soap and water.

3.4. Empty tanks and cans for paints and varnishes should not be accumulated near the workplace; they should be taken to a specially designated room.

3.5. Do not prepare working compositions of finishing materials at the workplace.

3.6. Maintain parts after coating in chambers equipped with local suction.

3.7. When switching from nitrocellulose varnishes to polyester varnishes, rinse the bathtub and fixtures.

3.8. If local pumps are turned off, stop coating work.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Turn off equipment.

4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management.

4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher.

4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning.

4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.).

Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base.

4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Turn off equipment. Wait for it to come to a complete stop. Tidy up the workplace: remove tools, fixtures; clean the machine from dirt and dust; wipe and lubricate the rubbing parts of the machine; neatly fold the finished parts and the remaining material.

5.2. Cleaning of wood waste (sawdust, shavings, dust) from the surface of the equipment, as well as from overalls, is carried out with a brush, sweep or using vacuum cleaners.

It is unacceptable to blow the machine and clothes with compressed air.

5.3. Rags used during work and when cleaning, put the rags in a special metal box with a closing lid and take it outside the workshop to a specially designated place.

5.4. Wash hands with warm water and soap.

5.5. Report all noticed shortcomings in the operation of the equipment to the shift worker or foreman.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Fully integrated opto-electronic four-channel multiplexer 23.05.2015

Until recently, the greatest progress in the development of solutions for silicon photonics was demonstrated by Intel. She almost reached the commercial implementation of the project, when optical communication lines could appear within the server rack. The traditional implementation of optical communications within a rack and a separate computer is too expensive for short distances (a lot of connectors, converters and interface nodes are required).

Silicon photonics - the integration of optical and electrical circuits in a single semiconductor solution - can recoup investments and significantly increase the throughput of inter-chip interfaces.

According to a company press release, IBM has launched the industry's first fully integrated optical-electronic four-channel multiplexer. The solution carries four 25-Gbps optical inputs and outputs and is focused on organizing one 100-Gbps optical channel. In this case, a 100-Gbps duplex channel is organized using a simple single-mode optical fiber.

Practical tests have shown the ability of the modules to transmit data without slowing down at a distance of up to 2 km. This enables the company to replace repeaters in its data centers with solutions using silicon photonics, which could be the first commercial project in this area.

IBM optoelectronic components are made on SOI substrates using a smaller scale process than 100 nm. They do not carry semiconductor lasers, which are still implemented as discrete elements. Integration into the solutions of lasers will be the next step towards the introduction of silicon photonics. But even without this step, the developers have moved far enough to begin commercial implementation of the latest hybrid technologies.
