Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production".

1.2. Hazardous production factors: moving machines and mechanisms, moving parts of production equipment; moving products, blanks, materials.

Sources of factors: rotating drive disks, movable device of the needle holder and presser foot, knife for trimming the edges of the fabric.

Effect of factors: the possibility of fingers getting caught in the driven and driving drive pulleys, the possibility of injuring your hands on the knife.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Check the serviceability of the needle holder, the presser foot and the reliability of their fastening.

2.2. Check the presence, serviceability and fastening of the guards of the drive drive pulley and the sewing machine thread puller protruding from the body.

2.3. Make sure that the starting device is in good working order and the direction of rotation of the flywheel is correct.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Feed material to the needle holder evenly, without jerks.

3.2. Thread the upper and lower threads and change the needle only when the electric motor is turned off.

3.3. When replacing the needle, make sure that it is securely fastened.

3.4. Make sure the presser foot is secure. If it becomes loose, secure it with a screw.

4. Safety requirements in an emergency

4.1. Turn off equipment.

4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management.

4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher.

4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning.

4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.).

Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base.

4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Turn off equipment. Wait for it to come to a complete stop. Tidy up the workplace: remove tools, fixtures; clean the machine from dirt and dust; wipe and lubricate the rubbing parts of the machine; neatly fold the finished parts and the remaining material.

5.2. Cleaning of wood waste (sawdust, shavings, dust) from the surface of the equipment, as well as from overalls, is carried out with a brush, sweep or using vacuum cleaners.

It is unacceptable to blow the machine and clothes with compressed air.

5.3. Rags used during work and when cleaning, put the rags in a special metal box with a closing lid and take it outside the workshop to a specially designated place.

5.4. Wash hands with warm water and soap.

5.5. Report all noticed shortcomings in the operation of the equipment to the shift worker or foreman.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The smallest boat 01.11.2020

Scientists at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands have 3D printed the smallest boat in the world.

The size of the boat is only 30 micrometers (0,03 mm), which allows it to fit inside a human hair. But despite its diminutiveness, the mini-ship is capable of independent navigation. The decomposition of hydrogen peroxide on a platinum catalyst helps it to move on the surface.

The facility was designed to study microscopic floating organisms such as bacterial cells, the scientists said. It is known that their movement in water differs from objects of a large scale. The liquid for them is a more viscous substance, and in order to study such organisms in swimming, scientists conduct experiments with tiny spheres. In addition to the mini-boat, the university staff printed some more unusual details that tend to rotate in the water.

Previous studies were carried out on particles of a spherical shape, but 3D printing has opened up new opportunities for scientists to experiment. So, for example, in a mini-boat, they even managed to print an open space inside the cabin.
