2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Before starting work, check with the foreman the procedure for following instructions on safe methods and the procedure for performing operations provided for by the technological map, which the team (link) gets acquainted with before work. Do not change the established order without the permission of the master. Hazardous areas and places of rest should be marked with warning signs.

2.2. When preparing the soil in clearings, the passages are preliminarily cleared. Not allowed:

  • to work with plows, cutters, disc cultivators in areas with more than 500 stumps. per 1 ha without clearing passages;
  • work in the danger zone of felling trees.

2.3. On steep, heavily eroded slopes, backfill the gullies and install supporting cages in them to prevent soil shedding. It is not allowed to work on a slope with irregularities of more than 0,2 m without their planning.

2.4. When operating machines on a slope, it is necessary to exclude the presence of people along the slope for its entire length. Warning signs are installed along the border of the territory.

2.5. Immediately before work, check the availability and suitability of personal protective equipment, the serviceability of manual equipment, machines and attachments, light and sound alarms and protective equipment on the units. Coordinate with the operator of the forestry unit the methods of exchange signaling.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. It is allowed to till the soil with machines and tools on a slope of no more than 8 degrees for wheeled tractors and 12 degrees for caterpillar tractors when the unit moves horizontally across the slope. When the tractor is forced to stop on a slope, it must be braked and secured, and the engine turned off.

3.2. Drive over fences, ditches and other obstacles at an angle in low gear, avoiding roll and shocks of the unit.

3.3. The processing of the area by site makers, pit diggers, motorized drills and other machines must be carried out along a slope of no more than 20 degrees from top to bottom.

3.4. When working with motor drills and rippers, the minder is obliged to: refuel the combustible mixture with the engine turned off; move from place to place at low engine speeds, when the working body does not rotate; make repairs and adjustments with the engine off. When cultivating the soil manually, workers must maintain a safe distance of 3 m.

3.5. It is forbidden: to carry a hand-held motor tool with the working body turned on, as well as to work with a hand-held motor ripper with a faulty safety device; work with unprotected rotating parts of mechanisms; be closer than 15 m from a working forest cutter; be between the tractor and the trailer; closer than 20 m from the unit; get off and sit on the machine while it is moving.

3.6. When two or more machines are working on a slope, the distance between them must be at least 60 m, and horizontally at least 30 m. Work on a slope on the same vertical is not allowed, the speed on the slope and on the terrace is in first gear.

3.7. When preparing the soil with terraces, it is not allowed to: work on wet and clay soil and in rainy weather; move out from the bulk part of the terrace canvas with a piedmont caterpillar; make sharp turns on a slope; move boulders, stones, stumps outside the terrace; work on the terrace without its preliminary marking, in conditions of poor visibility, in the evening and at night.

3.8. When terracing, the safety of entrances to terraces, moving from terrace to terrace and turnaround areas should be ensured. At the same time, the width of the crossing deck should provide a safe distance of at least 1 m from the caterpillar to the edge of the embankment of the slope of the crossing deck.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Stop work when the wind speed is more than 11 m/s, during a thunderstorm, during heavy rains, during snowfall and during dense fog (visibility less than 50 m).

4.2. During a thunderstorm, stop work, take a safe place indoors, in a clearing, a plot of deciduous young growth, between trees growing at a distance of 20 m from each other, in mountains and hilly areas closer to the middle of the slope, if possible, settle down on insulating material (dry deadwood , moss, birch bark), remove metal objects, mechanisms from yourself.

It is forbidden during a thunderstorm: to be in motion, on top of a mountain, hill, edge of a forest; stop at streams, rivers, lakes; hide under separate trees, rocks, stones, lean against them; stand near and under power lines, at triangulation signs, other towers and signs, be closer than 10 m from machines and mechanisms.

4.3. When the forest catches fire, take measures to extinguish the fire on your own, if possible, give information to the forestry, forestry or other organization, enterprise, or the population. If it is impossible to extinguish the fire and threat to life, take personal safety measures and leave the place of ignition.

Do the same in case of any other danger (environmental, natural disaster, radiation, chemical hazard) that threatens people's lives.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Support-generators 20.11.2009

French engineers are proposing to build wind turbines with vertical rotors into power transmission towers. The power of such installations, depending on the height of the mast, can range from one to one hundred kilowatts. There are about half a million pylons on high-voltage lines in France.

If at least a third of them are equipped with generators, this will make it possible to do without two nuclear power plants.
