3.10. If an ice plug forms in the pipeline, it is necessary:

  • make an external inspection of the frozen area to make sure that there are no gaps and establish the boundaries of the formation of an ice plug;
  • disconnect the pipeline from the general system;
  • heating of the ice plug begins to be carried out from the ends of the frozen section;
  • it is forbidden to thaw a frozen section in a burst pipeline without disconnecting it from the general system. Only steam, hot water or heated sand should be used to heat the ice plug. Open flames are not allowed.

3.11. Replacement of gaskets and shut-off valves on pipelines is allowed only after pressure relief, release from the product and disconnection of the pipeline from existing pipelines.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. During the operation of technological wells, trays and pipelines, the following emergencies may occur:

  • increased gas content in wells and trays;
  • leakage of oil products through leaks in gaskets and glands in shutoff valves;
  • leakage of welded seams;
  • pipeline rupture.

4.2. In all emergency situations, workers performing work in technological wells, trays and pipelines are obliged to immediately inform the management of the enterprise or the person responsible for the performance of the work, and then act according to the emergency response plan.

4.3. If the gas content has increased during work, then the observers must remove the victim from the danger zone using protective equipment (hose gas mask ПШ-1).

4.4. In case of poisoning with toxic gases, remove the victim from the well, tray, free from restrictive clothing, provide fresh air, peace, warmth, give a sniff of ammonia.

4.5. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration.

4.6. If oil gets into eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.

4.7. Call for emergency medical assistance.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. After inspecting the shut-off valves in technological wells or using it, the covers of the wells must be closed, after making sure that there are no people left in the well, tools and materials are removed.

5.2. Trays after inspection or repair must be closed with fire-resistant plates.

5.3. If the work performed belonged to the category of hot or gas hazardous work, then it is necessary to close the work permit for the performance of work of increased danger.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Thermoid converts heat into electricity 27.03.2002

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) has developed a thermal diode that directly converts thermal energy into electrical energy. Thanks to these properties, the thermal diode will help solve the problems of cooling and powering small computers in the future.

The new device uses the effect of "electron gas evaporation", which is observed, for example, in the filaments of electrovacuum devices. However, the same phenomenon can also be observed in conductors heated not only by electric current, but also by any other method. However, even with strong heating (more than 1000 ° C), the current is weak, so this effect is used only in electronic thermometers that measure high temperature.

Physicists Peter Hagelyitein and Jan Kucherov were able to create a semiconductor version of such a device. In a thermal diode, thin layers of semiconductor materials are used both as electrodes and as an interlayer.

While the thermal diode operates at 200 ° C, however, scientists hope that they will be able to extract energy from less heated bodies. Chemists from the US and Japan have created a plastic that not only has magnetic properties, but also changes them when exposed to light. So, for example, a blue laser beam increases the magnetization of plastic by one and a half times, and when irradiated with green light, the magnetic properties decrease by about the same amount. This effect is manifested at any temperature below 75°C.

According to experts, on the basis of such materials it is possible to create computer storage devices of new generations.
