If the blockage occurred when the car was loaded into the furnace, it is necessary to make an entry in the shift acceptance log and "accompany" it through the firing zones, turning off each subsequent zone when pushing and turning it on again after it.

4.9. In order to avoid damage to the counterweight of the furnace located in the counterweight pit, inside the furnace tunnel, when pushing the car out, make sure that the end of the car is not above the counterweight pit.

If this violation occurs, it is necessary to manually repush the car and only then feed the car into the furnace.

4.10. If local overheating of the furnace roof and swelling of the upper metal profile is detected, immediately shut off the supply of fuel oil to the nozzles or gas to the burners, near which swelling occurs. Remove the air supply hoses to the burners from the sockets and direct them to the place of swelling to cool it. Report this to the shift or workshop supervisor and make an entry in the shift transfer log. If swelling increases, turn off the zone completely until the cause of swelling is eliminated.

4.11. Inspection of the furnace zones through the hatches of nozzles and burners, as well as through inspection hatches, should be carried out in protective goggles and overalls in order to avoid burns of the mucous membrane of the eyes with hot air and burns of the face with the release of hot fuel oil. In case of burns, rinse the eyes with a 2% solution of baking soda, apply a sterile bandage and send the victim to a medical facility.

4.12. If a flame appears on the walls of the channel due to poor atomization of fuel oil, the nozzle should be removed and the nozzles and walls of the heating channels of the nozzles should be cleaned to prevent fire.

4.13. If any dangerous situations threatening the life and health of others are identified, people should be immediately warned about the danger, removed from the danger zone, warn the shift or workshop supervisor and take measures to eliminate them.

4.14. In case of any accident, first aid should be provided to the victim, the shift or workshop supervisor and an employee of a medical institution should be called. Maintain until the end of the investigation the situation at the scene of the incident in the form in which it was at the time of the accident or accident, if this does not threaten the life and health of others and does not lead to emergency situations.

4.15. If a fire is detected on electrical equipment, call an electrician on duty to de-energize the equipment in the fire or ignition zone. Try to cut off the air supply to the place of fire (by turning off the corresponding fans), notify the shift or workshop supervisor and start extinguishing with the available fire extinguishing equipment.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Inspect the work area. Remove broken bricks, fuel oil on the furnace and spills of fuel oil in the areas of fuel oil tanks of the furnace and heat generators.

5.2. Report all observed problems to the head of the shift or workshop. Make an entry in the change log.

5.3. If the shifter does not appear, report this to the head of the shift or workshop and remain at the workplace until the order of the administration.

Car tires monitor their wear 23.05.2014

German tire and parts manufacturer Continental AG is developing "smart" tires that will promptly notify the driver of tread wear, pressure drops and other abnormal situations. New products can enter the serial market in a few years.

According to the idea of Continental engineers, a new type of tire will receive an electronic sensor that, using special software while driving, will be able to determine tire wear by changing their deformation characteristics. As soon as the system registers the minimum value for the tread depth (3 mm for summer tires and 4 mm for winter), the driver will receive a warning signal to replace the "bald" tire.

In addition, the sensor can be connected to the car's telematics system, and then the car will automatically contact an authorized service center and notify them of an imminent tire fitting.

The new feature will be part of Continental's TPMS (Tires Pressure Monitoring System) tire pressure monitoring system. The complex will be able to work in tandem with smartphones and display information on the gadget’s screen about the current tire pressure and its required value in accordance with the current vehicle load. The technology will notify the driver of a decrease in pressure and an excess of the permissible load.

Continental promises to introduce its development into production vehicles in 2017. It was previously reported that all passenger cars sold in the EU from November 2014 will be equipped with a tire pressure sensor.

In February 2014, the Finnish company Nokian Tires showed its achievements in the car tire market. She created tires with electronic stud extension, which allows the use of such rubber in various weather conditions.

At the Geneva International Motor Show, tire maker Goodyear Dunlop showed off a concept tire that, using an embedded microchip, transmits pressure, temperature and tire wear data to the vehicle's on-board computer. This information is then used by various safety systems, resulting in improved performance of the stability control system and shorter braking distances during ABS operation.
