This device is designed to protect apartments, cottages, garages, etc. The basis of the security system is the 16F84A PIC controller. Arming and disarming is carried out using Dallas Semiconductor DS1990 electronic keys.

The system operation algorithm is as follows: when the registered key touches the reader, and if the door sensor contacts are closed, the system becomes armed. This is signaled by the VD1 diode - it lights up. When the contacts are opened, if the security mode was not disarmed by touching the registered key again, a powerful sound signal is immediately emitted for 1 minute 15 seconds and the LED flashes. If after this time the contacts have not returned to their original state, the signal is given again. If the contacts have returned to their original state, the siren is turned off, but the LED continues to flash at a frequency that is half that of the alarm. This can be used to determine that the device was triggered. When the reader is touched with an unregistered key, a short (1 second) beep sounds and the system remains in its original state. A total of eight keys can be registered.

Chips DA1 and DA2 serve to obtain the necessary supply voltages of +15 and +5 volts. A backup battery is required to keep the device running in the event of a power outage. Its recharging occurs through the diodes VD4, VD5. Fuse FU1, varistor R9, zener diode VD2 are used to protect the reader from external unauthorized actions (for example, applying high voltage to it in order to disable the security system). Composite transistor VT1 controls a powerful siren. The R1C2 chain resets the 16F84A PIC controller, and capacitors C5-C7 protect it from false positives. Button S1 puts the device into key programming mode, S2 erases information about all keys (this is done if one of the keys is lost). It is best to use a motion sensor as door contacts, which has a relay output with normally closed contacts, and power for it is supplied from the security system unit. The reader is installed outside at the front door. A cable can be connected to it, which is connected in series with the motion sensor - in this case, if someone damages the reader, an alarm will sound. The block of the security system with a backup battery and a siren is installed in an inaccessible place.

The procedure for turning on the system for the first time and registering keys is as follows

1. The door contacts (motion sensor) and the RESET button are closed, the PROG button is open.
2. We supply power to the device.
3. Open the RESET button.
4. Briefly press the PROG button.
5. Briefly touch the reader with the iBUTTON keys (up to eight keys).
6. Turn off and after a short pause turn on the device again.
After these operations, the security system is ready for operation.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

flying skyrmions 09.11.2021

Topological optics and topological photonics have become "hot" areas of science since the 1980s after the discovery of singularities in magnetic fields. And the relatively recent Nobel Prize, given for the discovery and study of topological features in the physics of condensed matter, further spurred the interest of the scientific community, because all this opens up prospects for the implementation of non-trivial types of interactions of electromagnetic waves with matter. This, in turn, can be used in a number of new technologies for transmitting information and energy over long distances.

A group of physicists from the UK and Singapore announced the discovery of a new "family" of electromagnetic pulses with toroidal topology. These pulses are ideal physical embodiments of solutions to Maxwell's equations, which makes it possible to control their topological complexity and obtain the so-called supertoroidal topology. The electromagnetic fields of such supertoroidal pulses form structures that almost completely coincide with the structure of skyrmions, which under normal conditions are "vortices" of magnetic fields in the medium of some magnetic materials. Only now the skyrmions of supertoroidal pulses fly in space almost at the speed of light.

Skyrmions, complex topological quasi-particles, were discovered by Tony Skyrme in 1962 in an attempt to create a unified model of the nucleon. As mentioned above, skyrmions are nanosized magnetic vortices with ordered structures. These quasi-particles have already been well studied in many systems of condensed matter, including exotics such as the Bose-Einstein condensate, chiral magnets, superconductors, and liquid crystals. But if skyrmions can fly, it will open up an endless array of new possibilities for next generations of information devices.

The supertoroidal impulse, called the "flying donut" by scientists, includes recursive toroidal topological structures, due to which the configuration of its electromagnetic field resembles a nesting doll. And the topological complexity of such a pulse can be quite simply controlled, the number of toroidal pulses embedded in it can be increased or decreased, the direction of magnetic vortex twisting can be controlled, etc.

The topological features of supertoroidal pulses provide additional "degrees of freedom" that can be used as information carriers for optical encoding-decoding systems, measuring systems of various kinds, information display systems with ultra-high resolution and, of course, systems for wireless transmission of information and energy over long distances. .
