Safe Operation

Introduction

Tape cutting machines are equipped with structural elements designed to prevent injuries during their operation. However, there is always the possibility of an accident. All hazardous areas cannot be completely isolated due to the nature of band sawing, so absolute safety when working on band sawing equipment is not guaranteed. In this regard, it is extremely important that the operator of the machine be careful when working and strictly observe the rules of labor safety.

Every person who installs, maintains, repairs and operates the equipment must carefully read the instruction manual for this equipment and receive appropriate training.

1. Labor protection requirements before starting work

1.1. Tidy up clothes: fasten cuffs, tuck in clothes, tuck hair under headgear, put on goggles and gloves.

1.2. Tidy up the workplace: prepare and lay out the necessary tools and measuring devices, making sure that they are not in the working area of the machine; install containers (boxes) for cut blanks and chips.

1.3. Check the condition of the machine: make sure that the protective shields, covers, guards and ground wire are securely fastened; check the hydraulic oil level in the hydraulic system, as well as the coolant level in the cooling system; make sure that the belt blade is correctly installed and tensioned with the required force, does not have defects - cracks, wear marks and areas with chipped teeth; check the serviceability of the machine controls, as well as the operability of all the main components and mechanisms of the machine (main and feed vices, lowering the saw frame, blade rotation drive, coolant supply system, etc.) at idle.

1.4. Before carrying out repair and maintenance work on the machine:

  • place an information sign on the power switch indicating that repairs are being carried out;
  • the machine must be turned off (de-energized), and the power switch must be protected from unauthorized activation with a lock;
  • before carrying out work in the hydraulic system of the machine, it is necessary to reduce the pressure in the system to zero.

Report all detected malfunctions of the machine to the foreman or the management of the department.

2. Labor protection requirements during work

2.1. Securely clamp the workpiece in a vise. For batch cutting of workpieces, use batch cutting devices. At the same time, avoid getting parts of the body and clothing into the vise work area.

2.2. Do not touch the running saw.

2.3. Do not place clothing, foreign objects and devices in the cutting area.

2.4. Do not use faulty or significantly worn tools and keys.

2.5. On a running machine, do not install and remove workpieces and tools, measure parts, adjust mechanisms, clean and lubricate the machine.

2.6. Do not remove or put on protective covers, shields and guards while the equipment is in operation.

2.7. It is forbidden to look at the switched on laser sources (cut line indicator, limit switches, etc.), because this may cause damage to the eyes.

2.8. The working area of the machine must be adequately lit;

2.9. Long cut-off workpieces must be protected from tipping over. they can injure persons on the receiving side of the machine;

2.10. Work with workpieces and their cleaning from chips is permissible only in protective glasses and gloves.

2.11. It is forbidden to move the movable guide post while the machine is running.

2.12. Do not lean on the machine and do not lean against it during operation;

2.13. When installing workpieces weighing more than 16 kg on the machine - for boys under 18 years old, and more than 10 kg - for girls of the same age, use lifting and transport devices or seek the help of an auxiliary worker.

2.14. Do not stand over suspended workpieces;

2.15. It is forbidden to be in the working area of the vise (inside the protective fences) during the operation of the equipment.

2.16. When working on the machine or servicing it, it is necessary to keep a constant view of its moving parts. In particular, the saw blade and the fixed workpiece, as well as the infeed conveyor.

2.17. The length of the cut pieces must be at least 10 mm. If their length is less than 10 mm, then this can lead to jamming of the workpiece between the work table and the saw blade, which in turn will lead to the failure of the tool and machine automation.

2.18. Before installing a new blade, carefully clean the saw frame, guide rollers and blades from chips.

2.19. When installing a new blade on the machine, always use protective gloves and goggles. The plastic protection of the saw teeth (cambric) is removed only after the saw has been installed on the machine.

2.20. When using the incoming (and receiving) conveyor:

  • observe the maximum load on the rollers;
  • smoothly lower the workpieces onto the conveyor;
  • stack workpieces stably and protect them from rolling;
  • do not push the workpiece out of the conveyor;
  • not be located between individual segments of the conveyor;
  • do not stand on the conveyor and do not climb over it;
  • when repairing or servicing the machine, turn off the conveyors with a drive and protect them from spontaneous switching on.

2.21. It is strictly forbidden to leave a running machine unattended.

2.22. Chips can be removed from the machine only with a special scraper and brush;

2.23. Keep order in the workplace:

  • correctly fold the blanks in a special container;
  • do not clutter up passages and driveways;
  • timely clean the mechanisms of the machine from chips;
  • do not fill the space around the machine with oil and coolant.

2.23. Do not open the doors and covers of electrical cabinets, do not independently make any adjustments to electrical equipment. In the event of any malfunctions in the electrical automation of the machine, call an electrician.

2.24. Do not allow coolant and other liquids to enter the electrical equipment of the machine;

2.25. In the event of a malfunction of the machine or in the event of a danger, immediately actuate the emergency stop button. Exit the emergency shutdown mode only after all faults and dangers have been eliminated.

2.26. The operator is personally responsible for the condition of the equipment and the technical staff located next to it.

3. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

3.1. Make a thorough cleaning of the machine from chips, while de-energizing it beforehand. It is not recommended to use compressed air when cleaning, because. scattered chips can disable the ultra-precise mechanisms of the equipment, as well as damage the organs of vision of the maintenance personnel.

3.2. Tidy up the workplace.

3.3. Lubricate the moving parts of the machine and guides.

3.4. Report all shortcomings in the operation of the equipment to the shift worker and foreman.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
