For all newly hired (as well as persons transferred to another job), the employer is obliged to organize training in the methods of providing first aid for the injured.

The need to provide first aid to the victim before the arrival of medical workers is unconditional. Timely assistance (in the first 30 minutes) significantly reduces the severity of the consequences of injury, including the likelihood of death, reduces the level of disability among the victims, reduces the time for rehabilitation treatment after an injury, and makes it possible for the victim to return to work earlier.

World experience unequivocally testifies to the high efficiency of the actions of previously trained workers in the methods of providing first aid to victims.

First aid rendered by the one who first was at the scene of the incident (next to the injured / ill). According to the degree of qualification, these people can be - professionals (doctors or paramedics) in first aid, simply persons with a medical (higher or secondary) education, rescue professionals who have received special training in first aid, but do not have a medical education , other persons (without medical education) who have or have not received any training in first aid.

The training of all blue-collar workers is generally introductory in nature and is repeated annually to gradually consolidate the knowledge and skills of these workers. Practice has shown that blue-collar workers with an increased risk of injury (drivers, electrical personnel, etc.), as well as one or two workers per shift, in a team, etc. should receive more intensive training, primarily through practical exercises to inculcate the skills of basic first aid techniques.

Education/training of blue-collar workers must be conducted by qualified, medically educated and specially trained first aid teachers according to specially designed programs (adapted to the requirements for these professions and the needs of the organization) using appropriate teaching aids approved and recommended in the prescribed manner, and the necessary equipment (simulators).

In addition, it is necessary to ensure the availability of first aid equipment in the workplace, place in a conspicuous place instructions for various first aid methods (posters, brochures, illustrated teaching aids and other visual materials), appoint a person responsible for maintaining first aid equipment (first aid kits) in order ); place in a conspicuous place in printed form information about workers who have first aid skills, explain to blue-collar workers how to act in the event of an accident at work, what aids to use, where they can be obtained, and who and where to contact to receive first aid.

It is important to ensure the availability of first aid and its provision on the spot by a specially trained worker, as well as the possibility of prompt communication with the medical service outside the enterprise, as well as the transport of an injured or suddenly ill worker to a healthcare facility or (if indicated) home.

To do this, the location of the first aid equipment must be properly marked and in an easily accessible place. In addition, telephone numbers for calling an ambulance should be posted in a conspicuous place, the possibility of its fastest access and movement around the enterprise is provided.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

Terrestrial bacteria could have gone to Mars 18.03.2009

From May 25 to November 2, 2008, the American automatic probe "Phoenix" worked on Mars. When he was already on the surface of the Red Planet, microbiologists studied the workshop in which the Phoenix was assembled.

It turned out that there were at least 26 microbes per square meter in the room. They belonged to a hundred species of bacteria, some of them very resistant. When they were placed in a chamber with Martian conditions - almost complete vacuum, cold, ultraviolet radiation - most of the microbes died within five minutes.

But after Martian-like soil from the Atacama Desert was added to the chamber, some bacteria were able to survive because the mineral particles in the soil shielded them from ultraviolet light.

True, scientists hope that the contamination of Mars with terrestrial bacteria still did not happen: there is neither liquid water nor nutrients on the surface of the planet.
