Design of industrial enterprises and productions - a complex process regulated by a whole set of regulatory documents, including rules, norms, instructions that ensure the safety of the further functioning of the enterprise, the normal flow of the technological process of future production, and the creation of safe working conditions for workers.

These issues are largely resolved at the stage of project development, they are inseparable and imply the proper placement of buildings, structures and internal transport routes on the territory of an industrial enterprise, the rational organization of workplaces, the need to provide workers with sanitary facilities, collective and individual protection equipment, etc. d.

The design of industrial buildings, premises and structures should be carried out so that personnel not involved in the maintenance of technological processes and equipment are not exposed to harmful factors above the normalized parameters.

When designing industries with the possible release of hazardous substances of the 1st and 2nd hazard classes of acute action indoors, it is necessary to provide for the installation of isolated cabins, rooms or operator zones with optimal working conditions for remote control of equipment.

The design of windowless and lanternless buildings, as well as the placement of industrial premises with permanent jobs in the basement and basement floors with insufficient natural light, should be carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.

When placing technological, energy, sanitary equipment in open areas, it is necessary to provide rooms for placing control panels for this equipment, as well as rooms for heating workers.

The design of external fencing of heated industrial premises should exclude the possibility of condensation on the inner surface of walls and ceilings. Deviation from this requirement is permissible only for rooms with technological processes that are sources of moisture release.

When designing new and reconstructing existing buildings and structures, measures should be taken to reduce the flow of excess heat or cold into the working area through external fences, including glazed ones, as well as from technological sources.

When designing premises for working with sources of electromagnetic fields (EMF) of the radio frequency range, it is necessary to provide for their isolation from other industrial premises.

When designing and reconstructing existing production facilities where noise sources are located, it is necessary to provide for architectural and construction measures aimed at reducing indoor noise levels at workplaces, as well as on the territory of industrial sites, to acceptable levels.

Project documentation, in accordance with the requirements of the legislation, undergoes several types of examinations, including an examination of working conditions. It is carried out, as a rule, by the executive authority of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation, which is in charge of issues of state examination of working conditions. The issues of creating and ensuring safe working conditions for workers are covered in the section of the project "Management of production, enterprise and organization of conditions and labor protection for workers and employees."

Project documentation in cases specified by the Federal Law "On Industrial Safety of Hazardous Production Facilities" is subject to industrial safety expertise.
