Road traffic injuries predominates among accidents on the street. Of the total number of affected children aged 7 to 14, more than 30% become disabled. Every year, due to traffic accidents, the number of disabled people increases by about 3 thousand people, and fatal accidents are an impressive figure comparable to the losses of the USSR in the Afghan war of 1979-1989.

Often the culprit of an accident is a pedestrian who does not know how to assess the situation on the road, makes mistakes when entering the roadway, and violates the rules of behavior on the roads.

The following are considered dangerous:

1) places where there is a sharp change in traffic patterns;

2) changing elements of the road (narrowing, descent, turning radius);

3) places of confluence and intersection of traffic flows at the same level;

4) intersections, public transport stops, pedestrian crossings, bridges, tunnels.

The cause of dangerous situations on the roads can be:

1) a standing vehicle and a car suddenly driving out from behind it;

2) objects or structures obstructing the view of the carriageway (kiosks, bushes, trees, etc.) and a car driving out from behind them;

3) a moving vehicle and a car overtaking it.

The beginning of a dangerous situation is:

1) the moment the pedestrian leaves the carriageway when crossing it from right to left;

2) the exit of the pedestrian to the center line when he crosses the carriageway from left to right.

The relationship between the driver and the pedestrian is governed by the rules of the road:

1) the driver at intersections and road crossings, when the green traffic light is turned on for him, must allow pedestrians to complete the crossing;

2) when turning right and left or exiting the carriageway, the driver must give way to pedestrians.

Pedestrians should be aware of the following:

1) the most dangerous are zones of limited visibility, intersections, areas of high-speed traffic;

2) it is safest to cross the street at the underground, overground or ground pedestrian crossings;

3) when crossing a road or street, it is necessary to look in both directions and make sure that it is possible to safely cross to the other side;

4) you must not run out onto the road, especially from the restricted visibility zone;

5) you can never count on the reaction of the driver, you need to rely only on your own safe actions;

6) if safety rules are violated by a pedestrian or a driver and an accident is inevitable, you must try to avoid a collision by being between the wheels of the car or jumping on the hood, to weaken the blow, you must group and cover your head with your hands;

7) during the ice on the sidewalk and the road, you need to be extremely careful, because if you slip, you can get under the car with your feet.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
