Hardening of the body increases resistance to adverse weather and climatic conditions (low and high air temperature, low atmospheric pressure, etc.).

Modern comfortable living conditions, clothing, transport and others reduce the impact of changing weather conditions on the human body, reduce resistance to meteorological factors. Hardening is part of physical education and restores this stability.

Hardening of the body is based on its ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions. The hardening effect is achieved by systematic, repeated exposure to one or another factor and a gradual increase in its dosage, since only under these conditions adaptive changes develop in the body, for example, such as neurohumoral and metabolic processes, and the overall resistance to the effects of adverse environmental factors increases. Hardening of the organism is of a specific nature, i.e., it is determined by a gradual decrease in the sensitivity of the organism only to the action of a certain physical factor.

Thus, systematic dosed exposure to cold increases resistance to low temperatures, and thermal exposure to high temperatures. Cold hardening does not predetermine the development of resistance to pressure, etc. When the hardening procedures are terminated, the degree of hardening weakens, usually after 1-2 months, resistance to certain physical factors disappears.

The essence of cold hardening is the gradual increase in the degree of cooling. In people who are accustomed to the cold, heat generation in the body is more intense, which provides better blood supply to the skin and increases resistance to infectious diseases (flu, SARS, etc.) and frostbite. Hardening to cold can be achieved by rational use of the sun, air and water.

At high air temperature, there is a danger of overheating of the body, unusual for it. As a result of repeated and prolonged exposure to heat, resistance to high air temperature increases due to an increase in heat transfer (sweating), the improvement of which in people hardened to high temperatures ensures a moderate increase in heart rate while working in a hot climate, maintaining working capacity at the same level.

To harden the body to low atmospheric pressure, climbing mountains is more often used, staying in them according to the method of stepwise acclimatization.

The hardening mode is set by the doctor, taking into account the age, individual characteristics of the person.

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. Norbauer & Co's Seneca represents new standards in keyboard design. Her ... >>

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

UAVOS drone with record run time 27.01.2020

The Robinson R22 helicopter became the basis for an unmanned aerial vehicle, which UAVOS introduced some time ago. Unlike most rotary wing drones powered by electric motors, this product differs in size and in that it is equipped with a gasoline engine. As a result, the UAVOS drone can lift up to 180 kg (40 kg with a full fuel tank) and fly up to 1020 km.

The unmanned helicopter is designed to deliver goods and provide humanitarian assistance. It can stay in the air for up to 6 hours and fly in much more difficult weather conditions than small electric drones. For takeoff and landing, he needs a platform with dimensions of 15 x 15 m.

The cruising speed is 160 km/h, the working ceiling is 4200 m.
