Random interesting fact from the Great Encyclopedia:

Why is gravity different in space than on Earth?

Every object in the universe acts on another object, they attract each other. This is called gravity, or gravity. The force of attraction, or gravity, depends on two factors. Firstly, it depends on how much substance the object, body, object contains. The greater the mass of the substance of the body, the stronger the gravity. If a body has very little mass, its gravity is small.

For example, the mass of the Earth is many times greater than the mass of the Moon, so the Earth has a greater gravitational force than the Moon. Secondly, the force of gravity depends on the distance between the bodies. The closer the bodies are to each other, the greater the force of attraction. The farther they are from each other, the less gravity.

Now let's look at human existence on Earth. The Earth has more mass than a person, so gravity keeps him on Earth. But the Earth acts as if all its matter, all its substance are in the center. Therefore, the force of gravity anywhere on the Earth must be calculated taking into account the distance to its center.

The force of gravity on the coast of the sea is greater than on the top of the mountain. Now imagine a person who has retired from the surface of the Earth for a long distance. There, the force of gravity will be much weaker. When a person is in space, he completely disappears from the field of gravity. The Earth's gravity does not affect him at all. He is in a state of weightlessness. Therefore, rockets, spaceships, astronauts can fly freely in open space.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Smart vest for the blind 05.08.2020

In the United States, a smart vest was introduced that will help visually impaired people navigate in space. It transmits obstacle data using pressure and vibrations.

Researchers at Harvard University have developed a soft robotic vest that uses cameras to guide visually impaired users. Computer vision finds, classifies and evaluates the movement of objects around the user. The device informs about them by means of pressure on the user's body, depending on the distance to the obstacles. This way they can know in advance that there is a road, a wall or an approaching person ahead.

The researchers describe the Foresight vest as "invisible, accessible and intuitive." It uses soft inflatable textiles and the vibrations will be soft so as not to frighten the user. At the same time, the materials for production are inexpensive, so they can be mass-produced. If some of the sensors fail, they can be replaced separately.

Scientists planned to make this device in the form of a bracelet, but the vest allows you to more effectively monitor the surrounding space, and then issue tactile commands in real time via Bluetooth. Engineers plan that the product will be supported by all current smartphones, however, these devices must be able to process AI data.
