Where did Odysseus spend most of his time returning from Troy to his homeland?

Odysseus was carried by the waves of the sea for nine days, grabbing the mast and keel of his last ship tied with a belt, and then nailed to the island of Ogygia, where, in the midst of beautiful nature, the beautiful nymph Calypso lived in a grotto covered with vines.

She greeted Odysseus, who got ashore, and offered him plentiful food, strong wine and part of her soft bed. Calypso kept Odysseus on her island for seven years, promised to grant him immortality and tried hard to make him forget Ithaca. Odysseus eventually got tired of her embrace and sat for a long time on the shore, peering into the sea. Finally, taking advantage of the absence of Poseidon, who was visiting his faithful Ethiopian friends, Zeus sent Hermes to Calypso with the command to release Odysseus.

Calypso had no choice but to obey, so she handed Odysseus the necessary tools and ordered to build a raft. He did not need to be hurried: he tied a raft from cut down tree trunks and, using levers, lowered it into the water. Calypso provided her beloved on the road with everything necessary: bread, wine and water.

Soon Odysseus kissed Calypso goodbye and sailed away, driven by a light wind.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
