2.2.28. In industrial premises, it is allowed to use current conductors of IP41 and higher performance, the current conductors must be located from the floor level or the service platform at a height of at least 2,5 m.

In industrial premises visited only by qualified service personnel (for example, in the technical floors of buildings, etc.), the installation height of IP41 and higher conductors is not standardized. In electrical rooms, the use of current conductors of any design is allowed. Installation height from the floor level or service platform for conductors of performance below IP41 - not less than 2,5 m; IP41 and above - not standardized.

2.2.29. Outdoor conductors of all designs can be used (see also 2.2.5 and 2.2.13).

2.2.30. When placing current ducts in tunnels and galleries, the requirements of 4.2.82 must be met, as well as the following requirements:

1. Width of service corridors for conductors that do not have a sheath (IP00) must be at least: 1 m for one-sided arrangement and 1,2 m for two-sided arrangement. With a conductor length of more than 150 m, the width of the service corridor, both for one-way and two-way equipment maintenance, must be increased by at least 0,2 m compared to the given one.

2. The height of the fencing of current conductors that do not have a sheath from the floor level must be at least 1,7 m.

3. At the beginning and at the end of the conductor, as well as at intermediate points, stationary grounding knives or devices for connecting portable grounding should be provided. The number of places for installing portable grounding should be chosen so that the voltage induced from adjacent conductors during a short circuit between two adjacent points for installing grounding does not exceed 250 V.

2.2.31. In tunnels and galleries where current ducts are located, lighting must be provided in accordance with the requirements of Sec. 6. Lighting of tunnels and galleries should be supplied from two sources with alternating connection of lamps to both sources.

Where unsheathed conductors (IP00) are laid, lighting fixtures must be installed in such a way that their safe maintenance is ensured. In this case, the lighting wiring in tunnels and galleries must be shielded (cables with a metal sheath, wiring in steel pipes, etc.).

2.2.32. When making tunnels and galleries for current ducts, the following requirements must be met:

1. Structures must be made of non-combustible materials. Bearing building structures made of reinforced concrete must have a fire resistance limit of at least 0,75 hours, and of rolled steel - at least 0,25 hours.

2. Ventilation should be such that the temperature difference between the incoming and outgoing air at rated load does not exceed 15ºС. Ventilation openings should be covered with blinds or nets and protected with visors.

3. The interior of tunnels and galleries must not be crossed by any pipelines.

4. Tunnels and galleries of conductors must be equipped with communication devices. The equipment of means of communication and the places of its installation should be determined in the course of a specific design.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Taipei street lights to be equipped with smart LED bulbs 30.05.2018

The Taipei Department of Information Technology announced that the government has approved a plan to completely upgrade all street lights in the Taiwanese capital.

In total, there are 160 street lamps in Taipei, and by 2021, smart LED lamps will be installed in all of them, which will have enhanced functionality.

Similar lamps have been installed in street lamps in Taiwan's capital since last year. They can not only automatically turn on and off as the time of day changes, but also track car and pedestrian traffic without needing to work, collect information on the degree of air pollution and other information.

12600 bulbs will be installed in 2019 at a cost of $4,7 million, with another 9000 to be replaced in 2020, but the bulk of smart bulbs will be installed as early as 2021.
