Why does an opossum hang on its tail?

There are many things about the opossum that make it a strange and interesting animal. For starters, did you know that opossums belong to a group of animals called marsupials? The females of these animals have a bag on their belly, in which the cub usually develops.

The most famous representative of the marsupials is the Australian kangaroo. The length of the body of the opossum can range from 23 to 50 cm, and the length of the tail is 23-33 cm. New Class Drones Dragonfly Pictures 10.10.2020

Dragonfly Pictures Inc. (DPI) has developed a new class of drones - tethered drones that maintain a constant (stationary) position (hover-in-place) relative to a ship or other vehicle equipped with a base station.

Unlike battery-powered multicopters (multi-rotor drones, or quadcopters) that require battery replacement every 20 minutes, tethered drones are powered by a cable connected to a base station. With this capability, these devices can operate in flight for many hours and even days. Tethered copters track and accompany mobile platforms - sea ships, ships, trucks and other land vehicles.

Compared to fixed-wing drones, the new drones have several advantages, including vertical takeoff and landing. These drones do not require a landing strip, launch pad, or maintenance equipment. Unlike zeppelin drones, the new quadcopters remain continuously stationary even in turbulence and fast gusty winds.

A particular advantage of UMAR drones is that they are able to operate non-stop for more than 400 hours at an altitude of up to 500 feet thanks to continuous power supply over the cable. However, the design of this scheme is associated with significant difficulties. The power supply voltage that is supplied from the ship to the aircraft should be as high as possible to minimize the current, which allows the use of the thinnest and lightest cable possible. Such a drone is highly mobile and its payload is high.
